I think that sounds like a good plan - I always feel there are classics I should read, but can never bring myself to read them, I'm much better at books I want to read
Keri, your list looks great. I've read Rebecca, Beartown, The Obelisk Gate, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and loved them all! I have The Secret History on my individual list also. Good luck with your new strategy, part of the fun is figuring out what works for you. And reading good books, whether they are on the list or not. Best of luck!
You've got some great choices on your list! I've read several - Rebecca, Guernsey, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Lonesome Dove and the Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek, and enjoyed them all. Good luck!
The books that you actually want to read are the best. From your list, I've read: Rebecca, Beartown, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Ordinary Grace and loved them all. If the rest are even half way that good, you're in a for great year of reading. Good luck!
Rebecca is excellent.
After my first year of the challenge in 2012; I vowed to never read what I should read, but what I wanted to read.
Good luck and happy reading
