I enjoyed The Last Brother very much.
I enjoyed The Last Brother very much. For Mozambique I would recommend either Neighbours: The Story of a Murder or The First Wife: A Tale of Polygamy. I enjoyed both and they are fairly short.
Appreciate the suggestions Carolien. I think I will order a copy of Neighbours: The Story of a Murder as am having a bit of trouble sourcing The First Wife: A Tale of Polygamy where I live!

1. Niger: Harmattan by Gavin Weston
2. Egypt: God Dies by the Nile by Nawal El Saadawi
3. Mozambique: ?? (still to find a book for this country- I was going to choose something from Mia Couto but from what I can read about his novels, they seem to contain a lot of magical realism which I don't get overly excited about)
4. Somalia: A Man of Good Hope by Jonny Steinberg
5. Mauritius: The Last Brother by Nathacha Appanah
