Good start to Sunreach. Curious about what the delver is doing in the early chapters, seemingly in league with the Krell?
Didn't touch anything yesterday - busy day with family. But will be starting this this morning and since it's audio and I'm at work, likely making quite the dent in things!

I agree, I like that we follow other members of the Skyward flight. Also, Sadie trying Spensa's yelling at enemies method 😂
So many slugs 😃 I hope FM gets her own slug.

“With Doomslug. You remember her?”
“Of course I remember her,” Jorgen said. “That thing was supposed to stay in Spensa’s bunk, but it would show up all over the platform. I found it in my cockpit once, and I couldn’t get it to leave! Every time I tried to catch it, the thing kept shrieking ‘Jerkface’ at me. I swear Spensa trained it to do that on purpose.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Through ch 5 on ReDawn. Once again, enjoying seeing how other species live and the political dynamics at play.

I like how they are bonding with the slugs, and how the slugs are learning words.. but on the other hand putting them in boxes so that they get used to it.. doesn't sit right with me.
All in all liked it. I'll start ReDawn a bit later, or maybe even tomorrow, I want to read a bit of The Girl in Red now.
I don't normally read the in between novellas but I'm certainly intrigued by all the mentions of the slugs! Will consider going back to these after Cytonic.

Join ussss 😂 Things that are happening may be important in Cytonics, so I would recommend reading it now. In Sunreach the Detritus crew are learning how to use hyperdrives and I think that should be important. But if nothing else, there are sluuuuugs so many, and they are adorable.
Finished ReDawn! I really liked Alanik's POV. And the way the team has learned to work with the slugs was great to see as well. I think the hardest part for me with these two novellas is the audio has the same narrator as the first two books and I kept forgetting at times that it wasn't Spensa telling the story lol.

I finished chapter 14. I agree, it's interesting to read it from Alanik's perspective and to see a bit of her world and culture.
I totally thought it was a Lord of the Rings reference too!

It would have been fun but not the right timing. I'll be interested to see how they affect you all's reading of Cytonic.

Also, finished it.
Finished Sunreach. I enjoyed the evolution of the human behavior towards slugs, and while I don't typically like romance, FM and Rig were at least tolerable. Overall, I don't think it adds much to the Skyward series, but it was entertaining enough.Have fun with Redawn, I don't think I'm going to continue right away.

Wrapping up Gods & Monsters today, then we will get through the last Good Girl's Guide and I'll see about getting Cytonic started then :)

How bad is it that I'm enjoying the novellas much more than the actual book? 😅
I like that in these novellas we are exploring other planets and cultures.
I'm getting annoyed with Jorgen's pity party. If Spensa was here she would this, if she was here she would that, and I know nothing, how will I do it, Spensa would kick ass, she would be amazing at this. *heavy rolling of eyes*

Finished as well.. sorry I've been crap at updating! Thinking I need to avoid BR's until summer break because juggling them with school work has proven to not be something I am good at lol.It was definitely neat to see the overlap between the novellas and the books - such as the planet floating! Also definitely agree that seeing the friendships grow through the novellas gave them more meaning than just a brief mention in the overall story would have done.
One thing I hated was they used the same narrator for all the novellas and the full novels. A voice that had grown to mean Spensa to me was now trying to be all these other characters and it was hard for my brain to adjust at first.
