Suz | 4428 comments Not sure if anyone has commented elsewhere.. but the new GR page is up again.. not only annoying given that, but also it kicks you out numerous times in one session! All I wanted to do was like a friends review, I had to sign in about 4 times. Not good. Not on!!

message 712: by Kerri_M (new)

Kerri_M | 590 comments So, I currently have a Prime video subscription. And today I got an email saying that a new series "Three Pines" starts in December.

I have a policy of never watching movies based on books that I like - always disappointing that the characters are never as I imagine them (think Tom Cruise as Reacher!), and they usually fiddle with the story line too much which makes me cross.

But I have watched a bit of French Canadian crime and mystery TV, and it has been fairly good.

Do I risk it???

The whole format is horrible and definitely not user friendly Suz!
I am absolutely frustrated with the book images…they are HUGE…I usually save the small image to add to my reviews, for my own files, they're now impossible to use for that purpose and I have no idea how to explain that to “them” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh no :( I was hoping they had opted to stick with the old considering nobody had anything positive to say about the new. I shall savour my remaining days of the old GR......🥺

Oh I never thought of any of this, Jools. I have never once given feedback as I couldn't be bothered as I know zillions of others will. It's so stange how desktop and laptop for me will always alternate between old and new. Doesn't make sense...

Read this, Kerri. Louise Penny is absolutely thrilled with the choice of Alfred Molina for Gamache. I was worried, but I think we can trust them.

I love Alfred Molina. Anything with his name attached to it is a winner in my book. I’ll be looking for this show.

I agree with you, Alfred Molina is a great actor, always reliable to play a part to the fullest.

I you are unhappy with the picture size you could open the saved image with something like eg Paint3d - click on Canvas and change the size by altering the amount of pixels

Thanks Heather, I just go to Amazon or similar and save the pic from there now. It was about convenience, just a click on the pic, save and done, now it’s just messy 😆

message 743: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments A week ago, I took my passport application to the post office, paid my money and was told: up to six weeks.
Four days ago I put a reminder into my calendar for mid-January to check if it had come.
Two days ago I got an email saying my new passport was in the mail.
Today I collected it from the post office.
I'm not actually going anywhere, just it was almost two years expired.
Murphy's Law says that if I needed it in a week, it would have taken 5 weeks and 6 days.

message 749: by Sharon Louise (last edited Dec 09, 2022 06:59PM) (new)

Sharon Louise | 137 comments I haven't seen the Netflix program or the Oprah interview (I haven't had a TV for years) but I'll be honest, I actually hope they are happy and have a happy family unit. I think they have made mistakes, but I also think the Royals have made a lot as well. I think the media have made things a lot worse for H & M than they actually deserve and the UK press is notorious for printing a lot of garbage. I believe the Queen did an excellent job through her reign, but I don't have a great deal of time for the rest of them anyway. And I'm English!

message 750: by Carolyn (last edited Dec 09, 2022 11:17PM) (new)

Carolyn | 9840 comments I've been actively ignoring the media on this. I do think the whole situation is very sad and while the Royal family treated Meaghan (and Diana before her) badly, it doesn't do anyone any good to go public with family disputes, especially once the media gets involved hyping everything up. Hopefully, once this settles down H&M can move on and live their lives in the way they want.
