Comparatively tame by Bentley Little standards, and it also feels a bit more like mystery than horror.

OOH--I can't wait to hear what you think of this one!"
Malfi has great writing style, very easy to read and the story usually moves along nicely.

True, but I loved Greek mythology when I was a kid. I was surprised to realize I had never read it.
I recently finished a collection of dark fiction:
So I needed to give myself a little bitty break from dark fiction. Is this ever a change of pace! I'm actually loving it, but I'm also ready to get back into something creepy, dark, and disturbing 😄

SF, but kind of creepy. I do not like black widow spiders, especially mutant over-sized."That looks interesting!
Anybody Home?
I've started this one which comes out on Tuesday. I'm only about 20 pages in and I'm already unsettled. This appears to be a home invasion book told by one of the invaders that looks on his antics as performance art.
The Chosen and the Beautiful
The Great Gatsby retold with a Vietnamese narrator and some fantasy elements. So far I am uncomfortable with how much of this book is simply Fitzgerald's novel typed out more or less word-for-word--the dialogue, anyway.
Char wrote: "I liked that one, Erin. Hope you do too!"I hope so! I like the layout of the book (told in e-mails, etc.).

Omg a fellow Edward Lee fanite. Ive read almost everything from him. Unfortunately, he's slowed down his writing quite a bit over the pas8-9 years or so.
Have you read alot? So many favorites.

Adding a link/picture: above the commentary box you see in tiny green letters 'add book/author'. Click on that and you get a small pop up window in which you can type the title. Click on 'search'. Find the correct title from the resulting list andclick on 'add' - at the bottom of the list you can choose between 'cover' or 'link'. It is best to choose both - you'll have to repeat the action then because you cannot choose both at the same time. Please always include the link because the cover alone is often not readable for people with seeing problems. I for instance have no idea which book you are reading now. I only see a hand ;-)
After reading The Furies by John Connolly
(Review to follow)
I wanted something light and simple so I'm reading The Accident by Daniel Hurst

Far be it from me to say which one, but either works for sure just as well for myself.
My fave edward lee lovecraft inspired novel is "The Haunter of the Threshold"

Tracy wrote: "Just finished The Exorcist now starting on The Amityville Horror"I recommend reading Hell House
Tracy wrote: "Just finished The Exorcist now starting on The Amityville Horror"It's a little like going from the sublime to the ridiculous, but I was surprised how much Amityville got under my skin while reading it.
I second the recommendation of Hell House.
