There is a little delay, but as soon as the captain gives us the green light, we will open the thread.

Indeed. It may be renamed Sleeping Beauty Hollow, but please don't give up hope! It will open eventually.
Well, I heard only about this challenge only yesterday. I hope there is a chance to participate. If not, now the next round would be ok. I filled out the form as asked.
My name is Avigail, and I am from Israel. I read in four languages, but mostly I read in English.
I will give a chance to every genre until once. The truth is that my favorite genre is historical fiction.
I am a person who likes to read multiple books simultaneously, and I usually have a physical book and an e-book, and there is always an audiobook as well.
I never took part in UNO Reading Challenge.
I have participated In The Amazing Race Reading Challenge, and right now, I am taking part in It's All Greek to Me.
Good luck to all of the participants.

Hi,

Players already assigned to a Team have until 25 January to check in. If they do not, they will be replaced and we assign the reserve players to teams, if necessary.
NOTE TO PLAYERS ALREADY ASSIGNED TO TEAMS!All Teams have been set up and the threads are open. Captains have sent friend requests to all their team members or sent PMs to them.
You have until 25 January to check in to your team threads.

Players who do not check-in by the deadline will be replaced.
Melindam wrote: "You can still sign up as a reserve player, Allison. :)"Thanks, but still no time. :D Just going to lurk a bit.
Hope to make it on a team. I was a bit slow on signing up:(I love uno!! Last year was sooooo much fun!
As this year's theme is fictional places, I would invite you to share your favourites with us. Which fictional places would you like to visit as a literary tourist, if you had the chance? :)
Pern. Who wouldn't want to hang out with telepathic dragons, singing fire lizards and eat hot bubbly pies?!
I would love to visit Discworld and Ankh-Morpork, but only with Watch protection. :DAlso, I would visit the city of Chialto, from Sharon Shinn's Elemental Blessings series.
The Great Library from the Thursday Next series is also on my bucket list, as well as the obvious choices of Middle Earth, Hogsmeade/Diagon Alley/Hogwarts
I popped in and saw where you guys would visit. I'd be on the bus with you! I have the 3D puzzles I put together of the whole Hogwarts (all the buildings). It came in two pieces it was so big. I never took it down. I'll even read to the ambience of LOTR's and Harry Potter. And Skyrim for the gamers. I would go to Skyrim. I posted a picture of my puzzle on my profile pictures. If you like puzzles, it's definitely one to get.
It might be a bit morbid, but I'd actually love to visit the library in The Midnight Library. Not sure what this says about my mental wellbeing being there you go lol.
Most of the places I would love to visit have already been mentioned, Hogwarts and Pern especially.Other than them, one place I'd love to visit is the world in which The Polar Bear Explorers' Club exists. I adore all the characters, particularly Stella Starflake Pearl and Shay, the wolf-whisperer.
Also, as an only child, I was fascinated by the Vanderbeeker family (The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street) and the Melendy family (The Saturdays) and the little girl in me would have loved to visit with them.
Narnia, of course. I have been checking wardrobes for access since I was 8 years old or so. Also St. Mary's Institute. I would like to work in R&D there, with the occasional time jump.
Aside from Hogwarts….I’d love to visit Velaris from the later books in the ACOTAR series.
I’m surprised no one who participated in the Wheels back room BOM has said they want to visit Dino Island yet :-P

With or without the hot prof?
At one point I was seriously considering having a Dino Island Team, but maybe some other time, when we are having a Jurassic themed challenge. :D
How can there be a Dino Island without Hot Prof? Who could protect us with worry and expert rock throwing?
Melindam wrote: "At one point I was seriously considering having a Dino Island Team, but maybe some other time, when we are having a Jurassic themed challenge. :D"Ooh. Dino Island, Land of the Lost, Jurassic Park, Journey to the center of the Earth, King Kong...you've got something there!
On my bucket list is Scotland...but that's real...I'm just now reading the latest Gabaldon...I'll get there one day :) Hogwarts would be at the top of my list for fictional I think.
Melindam wrote: "As this year's theme is fictional places, I would invite you to share your favourites with us. Which fictional places would you like to visit as a literary tourist, if you had the chance? :)"
Middle Earth, Midkemia, Terre d'Ange, Discworld, Asgard, Mandalore, just for starters.
And afternoon tea at Pemberly sounds like a fun way to spend a few hours too ;)

Tea in Pemberley sounds just the thing. :) Though I would not mind trying that in Blandings Castle either. :)

Sammy wrote: "True, though if we're going to bring in Wodehouse, I want the tea served by Jeeves! ;)"
How did I manage to completely forget Blandings Castle? 😳
I definitely would want to spend time with the Empress and Lord Emsworth.
Sammy wrote: "True, though if we're going to bring in Wodehouse, I want the tea served by Jeeves! ;)"Dash it, I want my life to be sorted out by Jeeves! :))))

Same here. My only worry is that he will probably make me give up some part of my wardrobe that I think is essential and he thinks is ghastly. My ugly but comfortable men's shoes, probably.😆
I'd love to visit so many of the above! As a kid, I always wanted to live on the Swiss Family Robinson island in that treehouse. Once the pirates were gone, of course.
I'm just going to go with the fact that being able to visit these locations is wishful thinking, so wishfully thinking my inner ear imbalance won't make me seasick will also be a thing, and therefore I'm totally on board with the Nautilus. I'd also add the Peqod, but being female they wouldn't let me on board, and in no conceivable universe could I pass myself off as a male, lol. :D
Oh, and the Muppets Treasure Island version of The Hispaniola!Mostly because I want to have a big sing-along onboard, lol.

You just have a thing for Fozzie Bear. Or maybe Animal. Fess up.
I've totally not just spent the past half hour listening to the soundtrack. Totally not. Also, Tim Curry is one of the most criminally underrated actors ever.
One of my favorite albums ever is John Denver and the Muppets Christmas. And, my sister does the best Swedish Chef impersonation.

Sometimes, these lyrics get stuck in my brain: "Ach du lieber, Volkswagen caaaarrrr..." My son loves Muppet Treasure Island and as a child he made us watch it over and over! It still is plenty funny!

Ooh! I've seen Rocky Horror 368 times! Gotta love Tim Curry! My character was Magenta...Can't believe Meatloaf is gone forever.

me too xD
Melindam wrote: "At one point I was seriously considering having a Dino Island Team, but maybe some other time, when we are having a Jurassic themed challenge. :D"That would have been awesome if all (most) of us who read it ended up on the same team :D I honestly would have been so disappointed if it had existed and I wasn't in it lol
