"Might as well keep looking for something. What else is there to do besides moping around?" Deadeye punched her shoulder gently.

Kiara glad smiled and punched him back. She stood up. "I guess we just continue down the hall?"
He nodded. "You're the leader."
She checked down the hall. "The coast looks clear." She slipped into the shadows and started walking.
Deadeye followed her quietly by her side. He was getting closer to her, he knew it, but it didn't feel so bad to have a acquaintance.
Kiara scanned the walls looking for anything that might be important. "Where do you come from Deadeye? I'm from North Carolina."
"I don't know where I was born, since I was kidnapped from home when I was small child, but my story begins in New Jersey." And he quietly added, "And it's Corpes."
Kiara glanced at him, surprised that he had given her another name. The first must have been an pseudonym. "Its awful that you were kidnapped. Why would someone do that?"
"The orphanage was filled with kidnapped children. The witches would curse us with magic and train us in order to help defeat their enemies."
"That's evil. I'm so sorry." Kiara knew words didn't mean much, but she said them anyway. "So, you've been on your own ever since?"
"Well, yeah. The orphanage burnt down, so I escaped by myself and drifted from place to place, eating trash and what not." He didn't meet her eyes.
((May or may not be trying to draw Kiara and Deadeye))
((I want to see it when you're done))"I've been alone for three years now. Its been...lonely I guess. My world has basically no one sane left in it. I survive the best I can by checking out every town I come across. I've met people on occasion, but they always turn out to be scavengers."

"I've never met anyone good, either, when I left the orphanage, so I understand. But hey: I'm a dope dude, right?" Deadeye--Corpes--laughed.

Kiara laughed with him. "You are pretty awesome." She glanced at the wall again and stopped. "Hey look at this." She was staring at a large embroidered tapestry, hanging on the wall.
"Whoa. Weird." He said, stopping close to Kiara. He looked up at the construction
It was covered in pictures of kings and queens, but one queen was crossed out with a big red X that looked suspiciously like dried blood. The queen sat above a broken kingdom that was on fire. "That must be the false princess, and is that dried blood?"
Corpes crossed his arms. "Never understood art, but that must be the princess. At least we get an idea on what she looks like."
"She looks...cruel. See how she seems to be glaring. She was definitely not a benevolent ruler."
"Yeah, I see." He stared at her...but with some interest. "The way she looks so malevolent....it's actually...stirring for me." He grinned underneath his mask.
((Does Kiara have braids or what))
((Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail))

"You're strange, you know that?" She studied the tapestry. "Huh, look here. Behind the kings throne is a boy I think. He's hiding it looks like from the queen. Could he be their son maybe?"
((oh bangs, hmm. Yes))
"Perhaps. He could be scared by his parents. Who'd blame him?" Corpes thought back on the skeleton room.
"Possibly. Wherever this tapestry means, its probably a hint about finding the lodestar." She looked up suddenly and stared down the hall. "Do you hear footsteps?"
"...Now I do." He hid in the shadows. "Hide. Get your knives out, too."
*Alvay looked at Biana*“I guess I get that. I’m sorry about your brother.”
Biana shook her head, “It’s ok if you don’t feel safe around me anymore. I shouldn’t have told you, but that just bothers me all the time.”
Kiara slipped into the shadows and pulled out one of her sharper knives. Two people appeared at the end of the hall, talking. "The princess is very angry, and you know what happens when she gets angry!" The other guy gulped. "I can't believe we lost track of those two! Now they could be anywhere in the castle! The princess will never get her hands on the lodestar."
"All we have to do is find the boy and the girl and use them to find the lodestar. Then we can kill them and the princess will rule supreme!"
They passed by Kiara and she fought the urge to kick them. They rounded the corner and disapeared from sight.
“No, I actually feel safer around you, then anybody else here. And I get why that would bother you. But I don’t think that was actually you doing all that stuff. And the reason you just told me all that, makes me believe that you don’t really think it was you too. So if it’s OK, I would kind of like to hangout with you till we can figure out what’s going on here.”
When they left, Corpes came out of the dark. "How interesting. There are actual people who are originally from this world that live here. And what boy and girl? Us?"
"I'm thinking it is us, but I could be wrong. What I want to know is what this lodestar does and why does the princess want it?"
"Maybe the Lodestar grants the princess ultimate sorcery? If you want ultimate dominance, you've got to have ultimate power. Or something."
"Maybe? Hmmmm...Whatever it is at least they can't seem to find us. Even though we were standing right here." She laughed.
Corpes laughed too. "Idiots."
"I wanted to trip them or something, but that would have given us away." She turned. "Do we follow them or go in the opposite direction?"
"If we follow them, we might get clues on what's really going on here. And we might get directions to the nearest cafeteria. I'm hungry."
Kiara dug around in her pack, pulled out an apple, and handed it to him. "Here you go."
He lowered his mask and bit on it. "Thanks." He said as he chewed.
"No problem, I always come prepared." She started in the direction the two guys had gone in.

“Really?” Biana perked up a little bit. “Yes, I would rather stay with you than be on my own.”
*Alvay smiles at her*“Yep! You also remind me of my best friend! I think you guys would be good friends! Wait. How old are you again?”
“Oh cool! We are 16!”
“That’s awesome. She sounds really nice.”
