BOOK
The book of the month is Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov. Category: campus novel.
Nabokov wrote Pnin while finalizing his drafts for Lolita, which TFG discussed way back in September 2013 (F2F21).
For those who disliked Lolita and now approach Pnin with trepidation: Pnin is the lighter of the two - vastly lighter, only 5.75 hours in audiobook format, in fact - without the aesthetic torture of the contrast of form and content that Lolita presents. The titular character Pnin is supposed to be a comic figure who elicits sympathy through his troubles as a linguistically-challenged immigrant and a bumbling college professor.
