1. OVERVIEW: I had a great year in reading. I was able to meet my goal of 76/75 books this year. I was hoping to go further but was not able to. I got to finish series and start new ones. I also was able to accomplish fun challenges, not only with this group of cozies but other groups. I had so much fun with the challenges and am so thankful I found good reads and these cozy mystery groups.
2.A. Favorite cozy mystery of the year? Oh boy, there were so many favorites but I guess I would have to say Working Stiff by Annelise Ryan, The Mattie Winston Mystery series. This series made me laugh so, so much and I could never wait until the next book. I fell in love with not only this one book but the whole series and have been reading them right along this year.
B. Who was your favorite character? Why? I can not remember his name but he was an elderly man who drove a taxi in the Mattie Winston Mystery. He had a pee bag and he was hilarious. I laughed everytime and even read parts to my husband and he got to laughing.
C. Did you discover a new favorite series? Yes, Mattie Winston Mystery Series
D. Did you enjoy visits with familiar series? Oh Yes. I loved reading Nancy Coco's Mackinac books, she is a favorite and the newest Haunted Bookshop Mystery by Cleo Coyle was released so I got to enjoy that. Oh there are so many books.
E. Was there a least favorite cozy of the year? Murder, She Knit by Peggy Ehrhart. I don't know why, but I just could not get into this book and From Beer to Eternity by Sherry Harris was another and Flowerbed of the State by Dorothy St. James.
F. Which book read this year was on your TBR mountain the longest? Was it worth the wait? Murder Past Due by Miranda James had been on my book shelf for a very long time. But I finally read it and was very pleased with the story. I also found it different but a good different to read a book with the main character being a male. I enjoyed it very much and plan on continuing the series.
3. Tell Us a Story: Write a short paragraph using titles of books you read this year.
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder at the A Cajun Christmas Killing. While everyone was drinking An Eggnog to Die for the police found a Frozen Stiff laying in the snow during A Dark and Silent Night. They had their best Dead-End Detective on the case. He will be Digging Up the Dirt to keep your town safe. So don't worry and Have Yourself a Fudgy Little Christmas
**That was fun creating the little paragraph with the book titles! Merry Christmas!!

🤗 Love your story!
Full of Christmas/holiday sayings, it's perfect for the season.
Looks like you had a good year with time to read and catch up with a favorite series. My favorite line is a booklover's lament: "Oh, there are so many books." I feel ya'!

2. Taking a Closer Look:
A. What was your favorite cozy mystery of the year? Hail to the Chef by Julie Hyzy.
B. Who was your favorite character? Tell us why. Charlie Harris from Cat in the Stacks series. He has a gentle way about him and his love for his Maine Coon, Diesel, touches my heart.
C. Did you discover a new favorite series? White House Chef series by Julie Hyzy tops my list, though the Cat in the Stacks series is a close runner up.
D. Did you enjoy a visit(s) with familiar friends? (on-going series) I read a lot of first in series this year as I am still new to cozies. I did enjoy visiting with Qwill from The Cat Who series.
E. Was there a least favorite cozy of the year? Death by Coffee by Alex Erickson- just not my cuppa.
F. Which book read this year was on your TBR mountain the longest? Was it worth the wait? A Deadly Grind by Victoria Hamilton. It was a good read and I am now reading my way through the series.

Wow! You read way more books than you expected to. Glad to hear that rediscovering GR inspired you. Hope there were a lot of good reads.
I'm a fan of The White House Chef series too. I've been holding off reading the last one because I don't want the series to end.

I managed to red 86/75. Perhaps because now I am semi-retired, I have more time for reading.
