I'm tentatively saying The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. This could also satisfy the "lost" category, but that one seems easier, so for now I'm putting it here.
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest TrailI read Wild by Cheryl Strayed. After the death of her mother and a series of poor decisions, Strayed hiked the over a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail through California and Oregon.
I chose this book because I read Your Blue Is Not My Blue: A Missing Person Memoir (for the prompt read a book about a road trip) and the author had recommended it.
