Do they have characters in common?

They have the same characters, so they are considered a series by GR standards.

I am not sure where this is being shown on Amazon but I can confirm that these books do not share the same characters and should be not be considered a series.

This is not our product listing. We just fed out data and a page for our Kindle edition is not posted on Amazon yet. Our ebook ISBN is 9780593336854.

I will contact Amazon to have this product removed.

It's definitely on Amazon (see https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09...), but the preview chapter at the back of book one doesn't really indicate either way and the text on Amazon appears to be outdated.

Both are set within the world of STEM-related academic research. But in different states, different scientific fields, and so on. Visits from the some of the first book's characters later in the second book are possible but unlikely.

For now I have deleted the series. Once book 2 is actually available, we can revisit this if necessary.
