Hi peeps, I have a new challenge for you!

In fact, I have 12.

For every month in 2022, I will post a new challenge to help you work your way through your TBR. The goal of this challenge is to inspire you to tie up loose ends and streamline your reading experience!

To participate, create your own thread where you will list and track all of the books you are planning to read for that month's challenge (Pro Tip: if you think you might participate all year, immediately reserve yourself 12 comments, one per month, so your data isn't split up by other people commenting). And that's it!

Have fun, and let me know if you have any questions!

<3 Niki

UPDATE: So inspiration just struck. The challenges have been fun to compile this year, but they can be hard to tend to within just a single month. I'm now planning to carry this challenge out to multiple years, keeping the categories the same for each respective month. That way, if you're stressed about getting to new releases, novellas, or any other category we explore this year, you can plan ahead and already have a substantial list to tackle when we hit that month again next year. Figure this year we're building our lists. Next year we're going to kick butt!! And it also gives you a place to continually update and keep track of these challenges to be worked on as you see fit. :)

I should clarify that, while each month will have a theme to help focus your reading efforts, all books listed and completed by the end of the year still count towards challenge completion. For instance, I've listed way more books in January than I can complete in one month, but will be making a concerted effort, then will be referring back to it throughout the year, aiming for 100% completion.

All progress is good progress!

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2348 comments Niki,

I've set 12 books for January's new releases, but should I be good to make changes throughout the year. 12 is the goal, but if I flip some out of the initial list (or move to another month/challenge) I should be good?

Yes absolutely. I'm planning to do the same by updating my list throughout the whole year. For sure some of the challenges will have crossover books. I'd probably just repeat them so I can go back and cross them off both lists when I read them lol.

Oh I'm glad that's part of the challenge because 100% I won't be able to read all mine :)

Tammie | 5949 comments I'm going to try this! I still enjoy all the older challenges that I've been doing every year, so hopefully adding another one won't be too much.

I'll be back in a couple of days with April's Challenge. :)

I'm a little curious on if there are going to be any changes to the Challenges this year--like the update to May we were talking about-or how things like January with New Year New Books--does that mean we can still use the old books from the previous year, plus any new books? :)

Thank you in advance! I really enjoyed the Monthly challenge in 2022!

I absolutely meant to get this up and running again for the new year. Time just got away from me! I'll put it on my priority list to clarify things for the new year. Aside from a few theme changes, we're keeping the majority of the categories, so all the trackers will stay relevant from year to year and it's easier to plan. :)
