Aw, I loved Alice in Wonderland.Michael Vey tends to fit a lot of challenges every year, so I'll read at least one this year.
Alcatraz Vs the Evil Librarians is so hilarious -- great choice.
So I have participated in the challenge every year and I only finished one which was the first one and I finished it late. I am going to try to read the ones I am missing for the previous year challenges and this one. If anyone is curious, I am missing one for the 2020 challenge (anyone who saw the chat will know which one) and I am missing three for the 2021 challenge (four if I do not count a school book). 1.

Plus I think I can double up with another group challenge I'm in! Which I didn't think of when I made my original list. Thankfully, changes are easy to make!

I did not enjoy Tom's Midnight Garden as much as I thought I would but I’m glad I read it first because if I’d read it later on in the challenge I probably would’ve DNFed it and chosen something else instead. Still, I only gave it 3 stars.
If you want to check out my review for it, you can do so here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Next I’m planning on reading my choice for task 7 Glimpse which was what I planned to start with all along so I’m excited for it!

I just finished it. SO good! Thanks for the recommendation! I chose it for #5, published (well) before 2000
I only have one left from the list. Oh horror - just like last year. 😱 Just hoping I finish this time.
@Georgann I can't believe you actually read it! I'm glad you enjoyed it more than I did. That actually makes me feel like it was more worth it that I read it just so I could recommend it to you.
@Lynn wait you've already read all of them except one?! So fast!

Well, reading the Alex Rider series has helped. So far, this month, I've read 24 books. I've been motivated for some reason.
24 books?! Give yourself an award! Give yourself a slice of cake! That is crazy good wow! My motivation has been coming and going but even at my most motivated I'd never be able to read that many books in a month😂 But seriously wow, awesome job Lynn!👏🏻👏🏻

I read three books for this challenge in January!1. The Night Diary
This is set during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. It's not exactly about a revolution, but I feel like it still fits the intent of the challenge.
5. The Birchbark House
Originally published in 1999. (This would also work for #6 an illustrated book if anyone is still looking for a book for that task.)
6. The Legend of Auntie Po
This is a graphic novel, so it's obviously illustrated.
Tiffany wrote: "@Lynn Wow, you finished already!! That has to be some kind of record! Congratulations!"Thanks.
@Tiffany it's definitely a record! Very inspiring how quickly Lynn finished it! She also really makes me want to read more Alex Rider if only I could find the time!😂

Wow great job Tiffany! That reminds me to get back on this challenge. This year I'm determined to finish it!
@Kadi I'm determined to finish this year, too! I still have four left, but I have one of those checked out from the library right now so hopefully I'll get to it this month.

Yeah Eden I've read it! It's got a yellow cover with popcorn on it right? I'm pretty sure I read it in 2019 for the UNO Challenge. It was way too long and lowkey bored me. Not enough romance and I've never been a huge fan of contemporary. But how are you finding it? Are you reading it for one of the tasks on the TBR challenge list or just in general?

Honestly that's what I thought! I stuck with it thinking it would improve and in my opinion it didn't. And it felt really long so I stuck with it for a while too.

I finished another book for this challenge back in April and just now updated my list here.9. The Stars of Summer
2nd book in the All Four Stars series
Still three more to go!
I completely forgot but I also finished another book for this!
1. Read a book about an uprising or revolution. - Siege
2. Read a book with a link to the environment. - Twitch (he’s a birdwatcher and it’s set in the woods so that’s a link I guess)

10. Read a book that is a coming-of-age story. - Jasper Jones
I thought Jasper Jones was a longer read than it probably warranted considering how meh the mystery was but it was beautifully written, poignant and deep. 5 stars from me! My review if anyone's interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'll probably read another book from this list for the August challenge. Preferably more than one, I'd really like to finish my TBR challenge this year.

Welp, I intended to try and get this challenge out of the way towards the beginning of the year, but it looks like I once again got busy and forgot about it. Oh well, I have finished a few books for it so far. 1. Read a book about an uprising or revolution.
2. Read a book with a link to the environment.
✅ 3. Read a book with a purple cover. - The Color Purple
4. Read a book set on a boat or harbour.
5. Read a book published during or before the early 2000s.
✅ 6. Read a book with illustrations. - Princess Princess Ever After
7. Read a book with a protagonist who has superpowers.
8. Read a book belonging to the humour genre.
✅ 9. Read a book that is the second book in a series. - P.S. I Still Love You

Hoping to also complete some for this challenge during the august mg challenge.
Just finished my last book, Challenge completed! It's been fun and I have enjoyed the variety of books I've read for it. Thank you, @Kadi, for putting this challenge together for us!

Bit of a late reply but congratulations on finishing it! I’m just posting 2023’s TBR Challenge now!

Message 55 updatedIt turns out after updating this message two years later that I finished most of the challenge with my books. I did require three books from my school to complete some of them but it was really because in 2022 I read more school books than regular books. Plus it was hard to find prompts for the environment one and the boat one surprisingly. Then I used two books from 2023 for the other prompts that I was missing. With my regular books, I only finished half of the challenge. I hope to prioritize the rest of 2024.

You could always change some of your book choices now or later if you don't want to start so many new series!
@Patronusgranger aah there's no rush! Take your time choosing. You can even start reading before you finish choosing them all. Also yeah Catching Fire or Mockingjay would definitely count as a book with an uprising. Looks like you've already got one book choice nailed then👏🏻
And thanks, I'm glad I found an illustrated book too! Although I'm a little sceptical about whether I'll like it because it has big Inkheart vibes and I DNF'ed that book pretty early on. I may end up having to choose another book for that task but I'm willing to at least give The House with a Clock in Its Walls a try.
