I'm planning pop in to library and bring it home to read :) will be interesting to read it in original. I'm curious if I find any differences, which is highly unlikely, cause I read Polish translation around 20 years ago LOL!

I was thinking about checking English version of 'Season of storms' by Sapkowski to see if anything was missed from original :) I'm pretty sure that sometimes some expressions has no sensible equivalent in other languages and this can be one of reasons of different reactions from readers.
I am up to the last 5% of the book... Things are just bad for our guys... It makes me angry and sad, and just... I have a feeling the best way to surmise everything in these books would be "Life is not Fair!"... The little moments of good and love are so few and far between, but we hold on to them and the hopes of them tooth and nail, don't we?...
I finished... I loved it, but I enjoy this type of story to begin with... I can't wait to see what you guys think...
About third part of book behind me. Everybody's learning... Ned - how to deal with 'vipers' in court, Aria - how to play lady and how to use sword, Jon - how to have new brothers in Black Watch, Robb - how to be Lord of Winterfell, etc... And honestly I'm sorry for Sansa... she's silly teen who doesn't want to see truth before her eyes cause living in imagined world of romance... Sorry for spoilers...
You are fine... This is exactly how I feel about Sansa... She is mentally very young, not just in age, and is surrounded by wolves. She is outmatched and the rest of the family, apart from the lady tutor, are all busy with whatever they are doing. There is now one guiding her through the treacherous court intrigues, she is drowning, and I think she is using her idealistic thoughts and denial as safety mechanisms...
Lannisters are proper vipers... She will learn how to survive from the best... Aria is interesting little thing, curious kid with strong character, fast learner. I like her :)
Dany's learn fast too, and by God her brother is one spoiled piece of s.... What a bully with not even an ounce of brain in his head!
So... About 100 pages left to the end of the book. Ned's dead, Sansa's learned how 'lovely' is her prince/king, Cat and Robb are fighting for Riverrun, Aria's become boy to back North with Yoren from Night Watch and Dany loosing her child and her sun-and-stars... Life's brutal for many, but also not so sweet for few.
[spoiler ahead]I am 200 pages away from finishing (sorry for being away for abit) but holy moly this is literally a game of politics AHHH edd! I'm at the point where Edd is being called a traitor and makes me feel so BAAAD, his an awesome guy. even his own kids say "My father will never do such thing" just shows EVEN THE KIDS KNOW THE TRUTH HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO BLIND. wait... speaking of kids if Sansa doesn't get over with Joffery soon enough I'm going to fume, I'm hoping she wAKeS Up x0
Also I believe it was chapter 53 (Jon) where he kills the corpse named Othor, dude that was so sick to read.. THAT was an fun chapter holy, and his wolf ghost.. holy the action in that was just mwa chefs kiss! with the bird in the background added more flavour hehe.
hope I'll be finishing soon enough, happy reading : )
I need to get around to reading the second book I absolutely love this one surprisingly but not sure if I should just hold off since the series isn’t gonna finish any time soon
Book finished. Adam as far as I'm aware two more books are not finished/published for this serie, but if I'm not wrong there were few prequels and history of house Targaryen published so far. Never saw any in library tho...
yea Ahdam, I've bought one of the prequels (A knight of the seven kingdoms) and on a hunt for 2 more. In my opinion it's better reading it now than catching up when his next book releases. which myself due to things getting in the way I'm a slow reader so who knows when I'll finish with the whole of this universe, hopefully before the winds of winter (which by the looks of it I should be fine lol).
Finished. THIS BOOK HAS DESTORYED ME HOW HAVE THINGS ENDED THE WAY IT DID WHYYY.. I'm so scared on continuing x0 but... I CANT LEAVE I LOVE THIS WORLD O.o
Laura, great!!!Silent Sandy! I know, right?! So good!!! I hope I see you here mid May for the second book:))))
I'm going through 'A knight of the Seven Kingdoms' contains 3 first prequels. Nice :) Hope I will have 'A clash of the kings' on time for buddy read.
Monika, It also contains illustrated pictures!! and I'm hoping you get it too :)Choko, I'll be looking forward for more adventures x)
First book of prequels read :) I love the pictures in it :) Ser Duncan and young Aegon Targaryen have few 'cute' adventures :) I hope I find the rest of Tales of Dunk and Egg :)
I was thinking about 's knight of the Seven Kingdoms' - no sex scenes at all, but he wasn't interested anyway, he prefer reading about tanks and planes :)
Finished it, and the rest of the series (of what is available) ages ago.5 out of 5 for them all.
Have to say the Targaryeans are my least favorite and the NOrth, all of them, my fav.
H, so glad you enjoyed it!!! We are soon to start book two. You can chat with us as we go, if you like:)
Feeling bit lonely, reading A Storm Of Swords by myself... Arya is trying to stay alive against all odds, Sansa is now Tyrion's wife, Jaime lost his hand... I like Queen of Thornes, she's old smartie :)
So far in 'a feast..' lots of things happened... Balon Greyjoy is dead, his brother Aeron Damphair is shouting for the kingsmoot to choose new king of the Iron Islands. Doran Prince of Dorne has problems with Sand Vipers. Cercei is going totally monkeys after her father's death, Samwell going to the Citadel, Brienne trying her best to find Sansa, who stuck in Eyrie with Littlefinger after he murder Lysa and Aria arrived in Braavos... What will happen next?
