Sylvia Bataille somehow bagged Jacques Lacan("the most controversial psycho-analyst since Freud", according to Mr. Google, which as we all know: never tells a lie) , AND!!! Georges Bataille, French writer, anthropologist, archivist and philosopher best known for his novella Story of the Eye.
I guess I just think she has one hellov'a track record as far as marital partners go.
Sylvia Bataille achieved the modern day equivalent of a 1v1 Clinton-Lewinsky-scandal followed by a an Instagram official relationship status with Slavoj Žižek...okay obviously that is only loosely accurate but in terms of who she could (in theory) be seen coupling-up with in the tabloids of 2021 I'd say that my statement is empirically and irrefutably factual.
...this may be one of those things where she must've been a member of the social elite so naturally the men she ended up with were very well known popular figures, but I have become fixated on her, and I believe there was something especially special about her.
Please feel free to give any and all thoughts on lacan, pro or anti, in addition to any theories about Georges Bataille, but try to keep the focus on My Sylvia Hypothesis.
Also if ya'll would be so gracious as to attach any articles and book references in responses. I am currently preoccupied with jamming my face between a pile of Georges Bataille and a neat stack of Lacan literature, and my face is suffering from a multitude of paper cuts of which I am both ashamed and proud of displaying publicly. Regarding Miss Sylvia, so far from what I've been able to find, the only essay on Sylvia is this one listed below:
-Hunt, Jamer Kennedy (1995). "Absence to presence: The life history of Sylvia [Bataille] Lacan (France)". Rice University Electronic Theses and Dissertations.
Retrieved 18 October 2021.

Interesting. I've never heard before about Hunt's "The life history of Sylvia [Bataille] Lacan (France)", and it sounds very interesting (and apparently open for reading online). Thank you about that.
I don't know much about Sylvia Bataille Lacan, but Lacan was a very interesting psychoanalyst (I don't think he never told lies, that seems like a witty remark regarding one of his claims regarding the structure of truth to me), but as far as gossip goes - it is an interesting issue.

Yeah the essay about Sylvia was only recently unarchived last October. I found it to be pretty mind blowing. There is a lot of context that the essayist lays as a foundation for understanding the “circumstances that made Sylvia Bataille available” to Lacan and Georges Bataille. Not so much as a commodity but as a shared resource. It’s very very very very good and I’m amazed there isn’t more literature about Sylvia in relation to both of the famous men she ended up marrying.
The “never tells a lie” joke was about google, in the way that those who are naive will accept whatever they read off google or an app like Facebook without stoop to think maybe this post is lying to me..
