Chapter 1 😂 Mitch is so good at explaining why April should help him.
I read a bit more than the plan 😅 in my defense it's so easy. At first I had a bit of a problem remembering who is who since it was a while since reading the last book.. and honestly, I'm not going to think of the second book as part of the series because I was disappointed with it.

* 😂 She got her own cupcakes. Although, I felt bad for her when they started teasing her and she started to feel bad.
* I remember not liking much of Stacy's book, and I now meeting her again... yeah, her character is annoying me a bit 😐
* Lulu is stressed and is working so much.. are we going to get a new book in the series maybe?
* April getting a costume and getting ready makes me want to get a costume too and participate too.. although we don't have anything like that here.
Finished the book.
Definitely better than the previous one. I liked it well enough.

omg I'm so behind! I was planning on reading a ton over the weekend but I got a covid booster on Friday and thus felt like I had been hit by a truck.I definitely also didn't like the second book in the series but I'm liking the beginning of this one so far! It's kind of fun finally seeing Mitch as a proper romantic interest. I'm hoping I'll zip through this pretty quick so I'll let you know how I'm feeling about it!
Yeah, we didn't exactly plan plan when to read this.. I just said week of the 13th and we left it at that. And on the 13th I looked up what books you were reading and saw that you started it, or at least it was on your currently reading so I assumed we started it. Sorry for not waiting for you to confirm the date.
I'm ignoring the existence of the second book. This one was cute, and fast to read, and definitely much better than the previous. Yes, it is Mitch's time, cinnamon roll.

Oh no you're totally fine! I figured since this is a romance there wouldn't be too much to discuss other than "it's cute!"I finished it earlier today and I really enjoyed it! I don't know what kind of second book slump that was, but this picked up and was SO MUCH BETTER. This might be kind of silly, but I liked that Mitch and April Did The Deed sort of early in this book. I feel like normally in romances characters don't do that until close to the end, but in their case I feel like the physical connection also really helped their emotional connection.
I also really like that this focused on an older woman than the typical protagonist in a romance novel. I feel like every other romance I've read has been about a mid-20s or maybe 30 year old woman, so this was something a little fresh and different!
Every time I read these books I want to go to a Renaissance Faire. I actually looked up the one in my state and it turns out it had to permanently cancel because of covid :( I guess I'll either have to find one in a neighboring state or hope that they start one up here again once it's more safe. I play Dungeons and Dragons so Ren Faire feels like the next logical progression 😂
And yes, the next book is about Lulu! My copy had a little sneak peek for her book, coming out next fall. I didn't read it though, I like to be surprised when I start reading the next book in a romance series
Usually with romances there isn't much to discuss but there still is something more than just it's cute.
Doing the deed early.. that's interesting.. for me it felt like it was moving fast, but it could be because usually the sex happens closer to the end of the book.
Lucky you! I mean, yes them cancelling it in your state isn't ideal, but there is at least an option for it.. or you have it in another state.
I didn't see if my copy has the sneak peek.. but I'll leave it to be a surprise too.
