Goodreads: "Sergeant Frank Hardy and his new wife Mette attempt to solve two real mysteries from nineteenth century New Zealand." Number 3 in the Sergeant Frank Hardy series is a short novella. This is a good series, with interesting characters and settings.

Max Collins' "Disaster" series features authors. This is the third one I've read. Collins is one of my favorite writers, and his books never disappoint.

A short story in the Lawrence Harpham series by Jacqueline Beard. A "cold case" mystery with a Christmas setting. Quick read.

Second book in the series. Not bad, but way too many typos. Who edits this stuff?

First published in 1919, this novel by Sax Rohmer focusses on the drug culture prevalent in London society post WW1. It is excellently written and the plot is superb. This is the first in the "Red Kerry" series, and his character is exceptional. Rohmer is the author of the "Fu Manchu" series.
