Thanks Martha, was a bit surprised myself - although the house often looks a mess after reading a long book in a short space of time!

Congrats on having a good month. Even if it came at the expense of your toe! I'm trying to make more of an effort to read some of my longer books. I usually enjoy them once I get into them; it's just getting started that can be tough!
That is one thing I like about the kindle, you can forget how long the books are! Although one of the long books this year was a paperback

I just finished reading a huge doorstopper, as well. I just couldn't put it down!! I had to know what was going to happen. :)

September was a good month, 5 read, but one was over 500 pages. Some series I definitely will continue, some I'm not sure about (Dexter). October is Classics month, I normally read quite a few as they are normally short, and I only have 3 months left to finish my challenge, so then I have the debate whether to increase, or see how many over I can go - if I work on an average of 4 a month, I could potentially read another 12 this year, but that would give me an odd number of 59, so might increase to 55. Also impressed with my page count, in 10 years there are only 2 that have been higher, and I have a few more months to go yet. Been rubbish on the colour challenge though, and I normally smash that.

Dexter was not a fave. In fact, I thought it was drivel and over-hyped. I think I gave it 2 stars.

I'm looking forward to seeing what classics you read. I'm reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn now. It's slow going at first, but I think it will speed up once I get further in.
Have increased my target as I'm on the verge of finishing, I was thinking I might do 8 more so round down to 5, but a friend convinced me to go up to 60! I was also talking to my sis in law yesterday, she set a target of a book a month and has read 17 so far, told her I was pleased, and she said I inspired her :) I've also convinced a friend to get a kindle for Christmas, so think I'm being a good enabler at the moment :-)

I don't think we can share kindle books in the UK Beth
Well, I have no idea which books I haven't included! I am enjoying female authors month though. Next month is free month, I was going to read freebies but ended up with KU free till mid Dec and not read a book from it yet, so that's what I'm starting with, then might have time to read some freebies. I am slightly regretting increasing my target by so much, will have to read more than a book a week to hit it now.
Well, I've gone a bit close to the wire this year, but hit my amended target. A good reading year overall and 2 5* readsMrs Boots
The Shadow Sister
