The Spinner's Tale question

Hi, so I had some ideas that I would like to consult the readers about. The first one for those of you who read is it possible that the author incorporated autobiographical elements in the text since he himself comes from the elite background and studied in O/A levels system then went abroad so is it possible that he based Eddy shah on himself. What did you think about the female characters? Are they sexist portraya or do you think that the author gave them little space however, Sana drives power from her hold on Eddy and Ausi. Ausi is unable to forget her and keeps remembering her even after becoming a jihadi and going through torture.
