Richard Eyres (richardeyres) Just finished listening to this. I think it was slightly better than the second, and on par with the first. The only part I didn't like was the long blacksmith portion. I think this dragged on for a couple chapters too long.
The ending does suggest another book. Not sure what it will focus on, but it's something to look forward to.

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments Agreed on all accounts. The blacksmith stuff did go on a bit, was dreading that it was going to be rehashed when Martin and co. came through.

Love Martin as a character but glad we got to spend a little more time with some of the others like Gary, who cracks me up, and Tyler. Plus 1 that Brit's confusing ass timeline was given a rest for the most part

And I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Jimmy

If he keeps writing them, I will definitely keep reading them. Fun reads

Sky | 1291 comments Yeah, I liked this more than book 2. Maybe as much as book 1...The buggy game plot was a hilarious twist on the concept that we are all in a big computer simulation, so props for that.

I listened to the blacksmith part at the gym, so it was kind of just background noise.

I noticed Scott Meyers has a new work coming out in July, unrelated to this series

I take it its also a comedy, but after reading the amazon description I am still totally at a loss about what it is about.

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments I'd be down to give it a try since I've been loving this series. Dude has a wicked sense of humor

Sky | 1291 comments Yeah. I get he feeling he is going for something like HHGTTG in the next book. But with his own unique sense of humor. I'd give it a shot too. Also, all his stuff is free on Kindle Unlimited, and my free trial which is no longer a free trial is still active.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I liked this one more than book 2 - because I really dislike time travel paradoxes, and book 2 reveled in them. The gaming was fun and there was some great, funny dialogue.

I ended up blowing through the last 4 hours of this today with the running around I had.

Definetely an improvement over the last book, and I reiterate my desire for a book 4.

I agree about the Blacksmithing being too long. That was kind of the point though. They even commented on it. I wonder if Meyer was making fun of his own obsession for blacksmithing or something.

I think Tyler arguing/yelling at Todd was my favorite part.

I'm really glad it had the Happy ending. I'm having trouble remembering Jeff's personality though. He hasn't really been in the last two books.

Bill | 1596 comments I really enjoyed this one it had me laughing the entire time. I actually really enjoyed the blacksmith portion especially when they thought they were done and it turned out they made an anvil. The portion that dragged for me was the carrying of the morphias blade.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I've many times had the blacksmith part happen to me in games - turning in an item and thinking "I'm done!" Only to basically have "now pee on it." Hmm....now I'm thinking I still have a couple of those quests open in WoW if I ever have time/desire to start playing again.
