message 53: by srosebookshelf (new)

srosebookshelf i was obsessed with fifteen when i was younger and listened to 1989 religiously when it came out. but i wouldn’t say i was an “official” swiftie until last year, folklore validated a lot of emotions i was feeling and from there i listened to every other album of hers i hadn’t listened to (which was honestly just lover).

Theperksofbeeinglu | 25 comments Listening “ OH I REMEMBERED YOU DRIVING TO MY HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT I AM THE ONE WHO MAKES YOU LAUGH EVEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO CRY” ( You belong with me )

message 55: by Soha (new)

Soha (soha23) | 12 comments I am a super recent swiftie who became one through Evermore. I have heard and liked some of her more popular hits but when she released Evermore, I thought I'd listen to just one song in it to see how it sounds and it blew me away!! I LOVE reading a lot, so when I heard champagne problems, I was stumped by how beautifully she could express a whole story through a song. And so my journey with her started, and now I have heard all songs from all her albums except for the first one and LOVE her!!

message 56: by sofi (new)

sofi (sweetbabygirl2017) I became a swiftie during the Lover era. YouTube recommended me Lover and after listening to it, I took an interest in Taylor's discography... and here I am.

message 61: by Monika (new)

Monika (florencepughsfrown) | 10 comments there was an on going joke on marauders tok that the author of all the young dudes was taylor swift and there was also the time all too well was released so I started listening to her and became OBSESSED

♥︎maddy♥︎ | 3 comments i’ve been a swifte- pretty much my entire life. my parents bought her debut album when it released, a year after i was born, and it was almost like i grew up with her. i would always hear her music and when i was probably in fourth grade, my parents let me keep her cds and i would play them constantly. i know every word to every one of her old songs, but i will admit i fell off the bandwagon a little bit after reputation but i hopped right back on soon enough. i still play her cds on repeat and it’s just a growing collection that i have. but her debut album will always hold a special place in my heart

message 63: by Zara (new)

Zara | 155 comments I became a swiftie when Folklore came out. I had listened to her hit songs like shake it off and blank space but when I listened to Folklore it literally blew me away. After that I listened to Lover and Evermore and somewhere between that I became a huge swiftie. Taylor's songwriting is totally splendid.

At first I wasn't like, a diehard fan, but my mom got me rep tour tickets for my birthday, and a taylornation employee gave us front row tickets. seeing her live honestly made me love her even more and now she's my all time fav.

message 81: by robin :) (new)

robin :) | 9 comments i loved taylor swift as a kid and then kinda forgot abt her. when i was getting back into one direction, i had made a playlist of a bunch of throwback songs and that’s how i got into one direction but it’s also how i got back into taylor swift. i was listening to style one night and realized how fucking good it was, like omg i can’t even describe the feeling i had. it was like listening to the song for the first time again and i’m finally realizing how good it is. then i went to look at her discography and added some of my old favs to a playlist and then i was like holy shit i love her music so i went and listened to her albums and now here i am.

message 82: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 19 comments i was Obsessed with 1989 when it first came out, i played the guitar then and the 1989 chords book was the first guitar book i ever chose & bought myself :D after that with taylor
disappearing she kind of moved into the back of my mind after a while, occasionally i’d hear her songs on the radio during rep era and even though i enjoyed them & had them in playlists i didnt really think about looking into her discography further. This sounds stupid but i saw an edit to enchanted in 2019 and became Obsessed with the song, i’d never heard it before and put it in every one of my playlists & loved it So So much i wouldn’t listen to anything else for a while, but again, didnt really think about looking into taylors discography more deeply. Jump to last summer when i saw a bunch of edits to exile and the same thing that happened with enchanted happened again & i listened to it on Repeat and just Adored it to death. You’d think this was where i had the mind to finally listen to her other stuff but no dumb me didn’t think of that yet, i did however make a playlist with songs that made me nostalgic, which ended up being almost all of 1989, red, and then a bunch of songs from fearless, then spotify sometimes suggested taylor songs to me and from one moment to the other i didnt listen to anything besides her songs anymore and that playlist that i made there is now over 14 hours long and filled with her songs only. oh oh and then also my first album drop as a swiftie was evermore which obviously just pulled me deeper down the rabbithole, so, yeah, that’s that :D

Oh & the reason why i talked about the 1989 guitar book thing too is that i started playing the guitar again after rediscovering taylors music, and that the first guitar book i bought now was the 1989 one as well, unfortunately i couldnt find my old one anymore:/

message 83: by emma (new)

emma (emmaknightly) | 19 comments i thought taylor was annoying and i hated her music (internalized misogyny, duh) but then i heard bad blood and that started my obsession.
i remember how i couldn't listen to shake it off without gaging, but ITS SUCH A BOP. hate that i wasted so many years being a hater
i could never hate on bad blood, like a lot of swifties do(not that i blame them, everyones entitled to their own opinion)

Destiny | 6 comments I was about 8 when LWYMMD music video came out and I was IN LOVE.

message 94: by emilia (new)

emilia (naina_xx) | 27 comments i had known about her since red with wanegbt ikywt and 22, but since i'm from a spanish speaking country, no one really talked about her much. then, we all knew about her on 1989 era, but my parents didn't really allow me to fanatize over popstars so i just reduced myself to listen to her music. when rep came out, and the the rep stadium tour concert came out on netflix, i got OBSESSED with her as a performer and her songs. at that point i was already old enough to be a fan of an artist and not care about what my parents told me about it. so i slowly started to grow into a huge fan, and basically was lost on her when she released folklore. before folklore, i would just listen to her music all the time but i didn't know a lot about her personality and her life, and then with folklore i just started to feel so understood by her songwriting and the way she chose to tell those stories, that i NEEDED to get to know her as an individual. so shortly after, i created a stan account on twitter and got to really know who she is with fans and how she shows herself on tour, interviews, and social media. today, she's my biggest emotional support, even though she doesn't know about that. i don't really know what took me to want to join twitter and to make me love her as deeply as i do, but i'm really grateful that i did and i just can't express how much it has changed my life

message 98: by Elisa (last edited Jan 12, 2022 07:28AM) (new)

Elisa I watched the shake it off, blank space and style mv when they first came out in 2014 and I LOVED those. I even had my father print a photo of her to hang on my wall. however, i knew just a few songs, so i didn't really get into her older music except for ikywt, 22, etc. I consider that i became a swiftie when rep came out. i was in love with the album. the comeback, the style, just HER. I started listening to her other albums and completely fell in love with her music and persona. so ya, I think i became a swiftie in 2017 <33
