Updated msg 14Just completed The Maid by Nita Prose. Enjoyed this mystery! Loved the main character, how she was described and how she viewed the world. I enjoyed how the story unfolded, though it was a bit long in the middle. I appreciate that the author used her experiences working with special needs children to inform her creation of the character. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Update to msg #7I've just finished Planeta K. Pięć lat w japońskiej korporacji by Piotr Milewski. I listened to it as an audiobook but got the number of pages from GR. My current status is 893 out of 1,001 pages read. Hope I can meet my goal before the end of January!

Updated msg 14Just completed Ghost Stories of Tampa Bay by Kim Cool. I appreciate learning more history about my hometown. I will definitely be investigating more and desperately want to go on a ghost tour the next time I’m back in town. However, the stories in this book were less narratives but more like vignettes of the author’s thoughts and experiences. Not what I was expecting from the title. 3 stars

I loved the characters and the beautiful, oddness that made them perfectly imperfect. This author’s signature kindness in his writing with moments of hilarious absurdity shine brightly! Definitely worth reading! 5 stars

I really liked it, Luc’s lines are so good. I really enjoyed the rivalry and the story. It left me sad and hopeful, recommended for a cute little story!

I read The Spanish Love Deception . I don't read many romantic comedies, and I thought this one was pretty stupid at first. But the characters grew on me as I got further into the story. Not sure it was deserving of Best Debut Novel for 2021, but then this really isn't a genre I'm into.

But the author used that to start character progression that became very satisfying. I really appreciate the message she was conveying. Really good ending. Worth reading! 4 stars
