Updated msg 14Just completed The Maid by Nita Prose. Enjoyed this mystery! Loved the main character, how she was described and how she viewed the world. I enjoyed how the story unfolded, though it was a bit long in the middle. I appreciate that the author used her experiences working with special needs children to inform her creation of the character. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Updated msg 14Just completed Ghost Stories of Tampa Bay by Kim Cool. I appreciate learning more history about my hometown. I will definitely be investigating more and desperately want to go on a ghost tour the next time I’m back in town. However, the stories in this book were less narratives but more like vignettes of the author’s thoughts and experiences. Not what I was expecting from the title. 3 stars

Updated msg 14Just completed How to Be a Movie Star by T. J. Klune. Heart-warming, lovely, understanding - this was a fabulous book! I loved the characters and the beautiful, oddness that made them perfectly imperfect. This author’s signature kindness in his writing with moments of hilarious absurdity shine brightly! Definitely worth reading! 5 stars

Update for message #1262/3 books completed for this month and probably the last one for January too, hng! 😩
Book #2 The invisible life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really liked it, Luc’s lines are so good. I really enjoyed the rivalry and the story. It left me sad and hopeful, recommended for a cute little story!
Update to message 1710/10 complete
I read The Spanish Love Deception . I don't read many romantic comedies, and I thought this one was pretty stupid at first. But the characters grew on me as I got further into the story. Not sure it was deserving of Best Debut Novel for 2021, but then this really isn't a genre I'm into.
Uptade to msg #7Please update my pagecount to 1,288/1,001! I achieved my goal with The Vanishing Stair - a lot better continuation of the series, which has 395 pages. Congrats to me! <3
Update 46:4/7 Read
1. 50 Harbor Street by Debbie Macomber
2. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
3. The Light in the Forest by Conrad Richter
4. The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisceros
Updated msg 14Just completed A Chorus Rises by Bethany C. Morrow. The beginning of this book was a bit irritating. I’m not a fan of petulant teen. But the author used that to start character progression that became very satisfying. I really appreciate the message she was conveying. Really good ending. Worth reading! 4 stars
