Jet is threatened by Slice in Smithie’s parking lot the same day that Ray shows up. Lee’s man Vance and Lenny the bouncer saved her from injury. Jet makes it her mission to find Ray to find out what’s going on despite Slice’s threat and Ray’s dismal behavior as a father. What’s driving her?

She wants to protect her mother and she also has this need to be the family caretaker and problem solver, even with her deadbeat dad. She also desperately doesn't want anyone to know what a deadbeat her dad is.

Jet’s Daddy issues are raging at this point. She has a desperate need to believe her father wasn’t there to just use her. It blinded her to the inherent danger to herself and everyone else.
