You're working on a novel, poems, or short stories.
You're patient, friendly and reasonably open-minded, leaving any agendas (religious, sexual, political) you might be carrying outside the workshop.
You're respectful and responsible and you appreciate others' time and effort as they appreciate yours, suspending judgment, political correctness or any form of censorship that might damage, hinder or attack a writer's content and vision during readings, understanding that a cool, friendly, and light-hearted atmosphere is the foundation of an artistically conducive environment.
Our POV
We have a new server on Discord where aspiring authors share their work in exchange for constructive criticism.
The workshop runs once a week and takes as long as it has to.
The workshop runs on Saturdays. The exact time will be determined after discussion between the members.
The workshop requires one chapter by each member every week, which will be read out loud to everyone by the author or a member the author chooses.
The workshop requires a pdf of each writer's chapter which will be available to the rest so everyone has a writing representation while the reading is in progress.
The workshop requires each writer to proofread their chapter as best as they can before uploading.
The workshop requires each writer to note down any potential mistakes they might notice during a reading without interrupting, so pen and notepad are highly recommended.
The workshop requires a small discussion between readings, where each member provides constructive feedback regarding plot, story, and character development, as well as editing and grammar.
The workshop requires a casual but respectful environment by all members, so sexual, racial, political, and religious remarks will not be tolerated.
The workshop appreciates jokes, banter, and casual talk but not in bulk in its immediate environment. If members want to hang out after the workshop they're free to do so at a channel dedicated to this specific reason.
The workshop is open to all genres and sub-genres and requires its members to be equally open also. Explicitly graphic and sexual content is welcomed but has to be backed-up by a real story and a well thought-out plot.
The workshop requires each member to be on time and always notify the admin or one of the members in a case of real life engagements that might have them miss an upcoming Saturday meeting, otherwise the member is up for a review regarding its membership.
The workshop requires you to be well and have fun.
