When Joe finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally-and thrusts himself into a mystery that threatens the life and family he loves."

Joe has two daughters and a pregnant wife to take care of on top of trying to put together the mystery of the dead man found in his woodpile. Things take an ugly turn and lives are put into jeopardy but Joe was able to put it all together with some unexpected help.

I am so happy I picked this unique book, I picked it up at a used book sale and let it sit around for a while until a challenge had me looking through my books. The story grabs you on the first page and slows down here and there but keeps you turning the pages. I will say it is very creepy in a couple of spots and if it would have taken the direction it alluded to, I would have stopped reading it.
