Bargainbooks | 56 comments Hi All!

There's a huge book sale coming up around my house this weekend. I'm going to be looking for Diana Blayne/Diana Plamer oldies. Does anyone have any hard to finds that want me to look for?

Just let me know!

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Went to the book sale, but didn't find as much as I usually do. Actually ended up buying more nonfiction than romance!

Did find a Susan Kyle, After Midnight - that I didn't mind rereading.

Sorry for the late post about it, but I forgot since my haul wasn't that great.

Hmm. That's tempting. Why are you getting rid of your books, i fyou don't mind me asking?

message 5: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments I don't mind at all!

Mainly because we're supposed to be moving and so I need to lighten what I'm taking with me. I sold just about all my extra printers (about 5) on Amazon and so the books were the next step.

The other reason is I'm trying to develop a more active lifestyle, I'm 26 and right now I find it more interesting to curl up and read a good book than to go out.

So with a job that's mainly desk work and then curling up in my free time - I've packed on some excess pounds that I want to take off and having such a huge collection of books that I enjoy is much more tempting than getting on my bike or the numerous other exercise machines staring at me right now!

And I've tried the whole reading while exercising, but I get so involved with the book that I stop excercising and sit on the chaise. LOL

I guess it's all leading up to a lifestyle change for me!

So those are the major two reasons.

Is there anyway to make it an irresistible offer for you!?! :)

It's a great offer. I probably shouldn't be buying so many books, but I'm thinking about buying them all the same. ;)

message 7: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Great!

Have you read Diana Palmer's Nora yet?

There are three books I haven't included:
Diana Palmer Nora - brand new - only read once
Diana Palmer Lawless - Ex Library Hardcover
Diana Palmer Desparado - Ex Library Hardcover

I'll throw those in the box too - if you like!

I have all the DPs, but thanks anyway. Maybe there is a good home for those. I'll think on it some more.

message 9: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments No problem!

You know I sometimes wonder If I'm going to be able to remain book free though! There's still a few more oldies that I really want to read and haven't been able to find yet and I love book sales so...

I'm going to have to try very hard to abstain or at least never let my books pile up into the hundreds again!

I admire you tremendously. I honestly don't think I could do what you're doing. I can't even refrain from buying more books. But then, books make me happy and they aren't hurting anyone. I'm paying my bills and I help the environment in other ways (along with buying lots of used books), so I don't think it's bad to have a book collection. But at the same time, I can see your reasons for liquidating yours. We all have different needs in life.

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Thanks!

Definitely going to give it a good try! As they say, the thought is father to the deed...

I'll at least try until I get some pounds off! LOL

OMG, I'm backtracking already!

You can do it!

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 181 comments They sure are tempting at $34.....I still have about 60 left to read out of the last bundle I bought from you.....

message 14: by willaful (new)

willaful | 344 comments I'm tempted too, but have so many too many books already! Though they *help* keep me active - I go to the gym with a book every day. :-)

message 15: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Thanks all for taking a look!

Not resisting temptation is why I had books piled up around my house! It was so funny watching the leaning towers until I figured out a better way to store them all. LOL

I have seriously tried to do the reading while doing cardio but it doesn't work for me at least not for romance books - while at UNI I could defintely study notes for class - but no reading for enjoyment. Got too distracted and forgot why I was on the machine!

message 16: by willaful (new)

willaful | 344 comments Me, I'm amazed by people who can study while they exercise! I don't think I'd ever absorb the material. Also, I'd be insufficiently distracted, i.e. bored. Romances work just right for me, thank goodness.

message 17: by Melanie♥ (new)

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 181 comments OK, Bargain, I caved and bought your books! Would love it if you would throw in the DPs =))

message 18: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Thanks Mel!

okay, I'm officially on my no romance book diet. I caved yesterday and bought five books and realised that I had a problem (LOL)- could barely stick to my Word on that for one day! My Word is very important to me so...

So now it's imperative - I have to prove something to myself!

I didn't buy any today though! Yay! - Although, I was no where near a book store so maybe that had something to do with it. :)

Here goes!

Bargain, If you get desperate, I will be happy to "lend" you something.....that is NOT buying =)

message 20: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Thanks Mel I really appreciate it!

Don't be surprised though if I start quoting stuff from Song of Solomon in desperation!

Pretty romantic book right - and since I already own several copies of The Bible... LOL

Hey it's not fiction, but I think I have a great imagination - just might work!

I used to study on the exercise machine. I like to read on the elliptical trainer. My back was bothering me and I was sick before that, so I haven't been to the gym in a few weeks. I want to get back into going.

Thanks Mel for buying the books, so I can't. I was mighty tempted.

message 22: by Melanie♥ (new)

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 181 comments Dr. D, Happy to share some of them with you! I know I have NO room to store them, so maybe I can ship them off to you as I read them LOL!

message 23: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Harlequin Presents are my crack! (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
LOL. That's why I hesitated to buy them. I am running out of space on my bookshelves, and since I'm on the road and have no life, I tend to hang out at the bookstores way too much.

If there are some good ones in there, I may consider borrowing them. :)

message 24: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments That's what I'm going to start doing - the next time I buy books, I'm going to read them and pass them on - no more hoarding for me!

So, I baked cookies yesterday - not a complete disaster. LOL

Good taste, but no form.
Going to share them with my animal friends!
Will try exercising today.

message 25: by Bargainbooks (new)

Bargainbooks | 56 comments Danielle,

I pray you feel much better very soon.
