I'm a page off finishing Chapter 13, and still no sign of Inspector Barbarotti...Again, no crime has been committed. Yet. Though I'm hazarding a guess that multiple crimes will be committed as this family is sooooo appalling. They're all up to no good (bar poor Rosemarie who is wearing herself out with worry and force feeding family members).
I agree, love the writing. And it's completely intriguing that a quarter of the book has passed sans crime or Inspector.
"Mother! We've all been eating for the last five hours and are stuffed silly" 😆(I will have that last finger of leapfrog whiskey though).
hahahaha yes poor Rosemarie, she's probably the only character I like - great book, characters are brilliant!!
I like Rosemarie too. But she's let her family take advantage of her for too long. Been a bit of a doormat too (sadly).I like Kristina too. But Chapter 9 was just wrong.

Yes, Kristina crossed a massive line - I couldn't believe it!!! Totally took me by surprise.Oh Nattington, you'll fall in love with Barbarotti - he is a wonderfully quirky character, funny too!! I think I'm up to chapter 33 or 34 - I've had to start another book to slow me down.

That chapter was an absolute shocker. It's burnt in my brain.
I know, right? I’m worried about Robert. I’m presuming he’s the crime here, although given this family it can be anyone or all of them.But Kristina — wow, that was unexpected.
Hmmm..."Freedom Auntie" too far. She'a actually one of the few characters I like. But that was just wrong. Completely.
So far I actually like Ebba. It seems that almost everyone resents her for being the golden child, but she hasn’t done anything that I can see to earn the scorn.
True. I think she's possibly overbearing and the fact she's Karl-Erik's favourite would rankle.
I’m sure pretty soon we’ll uncover her issues as well. I’m on chapter 17, and so far she’s the only one without weird things happening.
Yeah I'm with Nat on this one Nataliya - I just can't warm to Ebba, the whole favourite thing perhaps. The family member I probably like the most is Wanker Rob!!!
