Final thoughts.

Sorry, I am so slow with my reading at the moment, and very much behind! Even though it took me a long time to finish it though, now I have finished, I do miss the characters and want to know what will happen to them next.
I like the mundanity of their lives in the midst of the war, and found interesting the characters reactions to its continuing, with Polly feeling useless, Clarry making up stories for her dad's survival, and Louis wanting to just selfishly live the life she wants to live without being pulled into the war effort. It all felt real and human.
The one thing that did confuse me though, is what happened to Christopher? Was it a mental breakdown, or was he assaulted in some way? Is it mentioned at all in later books?

No need to apologise. I still haven't finished as I've been so busy in work, my reading time has dropped off dramatically. I'd be happy to put up threads for the next book, but I probably won't get to it untill the new year.
