Book Edition Does Not Match ISBN

The hardcover edition of The Vegetarian is missing its ISBN number. The proper ISBN number instead is associated with an Arabic-language translation of the book (Link here: النباتية).

That is an earlier version of the 9781101906118 hardcover book. They changed the cover without changing the ISBN so it's twice in Goodreads, once per cover. They are called "Alternate cover editions" and are there so people will recognize the books they read.

The Arabic edition coincidentally has a similar ISBN (same last 3 number in the ISBN10 as the last 3 in the English ISBN13) but it's a different ISBN.

I think there's a mix-up here. On the Penguin Random House website, Amazon, and Goodreads, the ISBN number that you said is a hardcover edition (9781101906118) is listed as a paperback. I know that Alternate Cover Editions don't have an ISBN listed, but 9780553448184 isn't an alternate cover edition. It's a completely separate edition with a completely separate ISBN number. You can check the Penguin Random House website and Amazon if you need more evidence.

So, could you please give the hardcover edition the correct ISBN numbers (ISBN-10 0553448188, ISBN-13 9780553448184), and change the Arabic translation's ISBN to the correct number (9789938941104)?

I think it's fixed now.

The root problem seems to have been the Arabic Kindle version which had both an ASIN and an (incorrect) ISBN and depending on where you looked, you saw one or the other. That seems to have caused further mistakes down the line.

But please check and say if something still seems to be wrong.
