I tried lists and just googling it, but that hasn't been very helpful.

I googled "Characters with the name Jack" and came up with a list right here on goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1.... Maybe you'll get lucky if you try something similar.
ETA - I guess you tried googling.

If you know one book that has the name, listed on its main page, perhaps. ;D
Bring up that book. Click on the character's name in the "Characters" link. All books that have that character's name listed will display. Unfortunately they are usually listed by first AND last name so that does little good.
SEE this one though...click on "Rachel" (no last name) in the The Peach Keeper character link and
Ta Dah!
Several other books show up. Are any of them on your TBR?

Suggestion two:
Google "novel with Rachel in the txt" Are any of them on your TBR?

I tried lists and just googling it, but that hasn't been very helpful."
Suggestion 3:
Google allows you to specify that your search results must come from a given website. For example, the query [ iraq site:nytimes.com ] will return pages about Iraq but only from nytimes.com. The simpler queries [ iraq nytimes.com ] or [ iraq New York Times ] will usually be just as good, though they might return results from other sites that mention the New York Times. You can also specify a whole class of sites, for example [ iraq site:.gov ] will return results only from a .gov domain and [ iraq site:.iq ] will return results only from Iraqi sites."
So, if for a challenge, let’s say you needed to find the the word Rachel; query Google with “Rachel site:goodreads.com”. The returned results will give links to such books on GoodReads. (AND quotes AND authors, etc.)

WELL! That was pretty straightforward! ;D

There's the John Ceepak mystery series. Tilt-a-Whirl
Diane Gabaldon has a spin off series from Outlander: Lord John and the Private Matter
Old Man's War Series MC is John Perry

Me too! I need so much general help right now! lol

You just made it harder. :) You may read the books within the badge in any order.

We've allowed both situations in the past.

One thing to be aware of, with Goodreads new regulations on outside links you will have to change the code a bit. there is an href code in front of the img code (just meaning basically that the code starts with those letters) both codes are inside triangle brackets <>. You need to remove the href code so that your image link begins with a triangle bracket and img. Just delete everything before that.

Please do not ask for rulings on obvious choices. If the task asks for a train on the cover, and there's a train on the cover, it's pointless to ask for a ruling.
Please do not give me a list of books and ask if they fit. Pick one book - one that you think best fits the task and one you want to read for the task and then ask for a ruling if you aren't sure. When you give me a list, you're basically asking me to do your gophering for you. And it's work, and time consuming for me.
Also, make sure you read the rules to see if your question is already answered before asking.

I hope my question makes sense on your end. I know what I'm trying to ask, but I'm not sure it's conveyed exactly right...
Thanks!

You can choose any four sites for your first badge. They do not need to be the first four sites. Also, you may read the books within the badge in any order. So, you don't need complete site 1, site 2, etc. You just need to choose any four sites (and a side) and finish all the books for those sites before moving on to the sites for badge 2.

When you report - list them in numerical order. It's easier to check sites off in the tracker if I don't have to bounce back and forth.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was asking! :-)

Sorry. This would start a precedent. You may have to read an audiobook "for fun".

LOL We are addicted to your challenges - we can't handle reading for fun anymore!!!

Just kidding, I get it. Reading a book without any reason except 'want to' has become such a strange concept over the years. The last weeks of 2021 were like that for me, and I found it stressful!

See that's why I had to finish badge 2 before the toppler so I could have open spots :)

I have posted the last two books for my Badge 1 for clearance. I have a few instances where the Mods could not see my posts. I do not know if this is an instance like that and that's why I am posting here. If the books are cleared, could I post my request for Badge 1? Thanks.

Thanks, Peggy. I am glad that my posts could be seen. It is no problem. I could wait till Janice returns.

Thanks.

Thanks, Kristie.

The problem is that I have read all of the books except for four out of the nine sites. One of those four is my side trip. So…does one of the remaining partial sites need to go towards badge 4 and I need to redo the two completed tasks?
Example:
Site 32: All read except Souvenir task
Site 8: All read except Souvenir task
Site 26: All read except About Task
Side Trip: All read except About task. I know I have to complete this one for Badge 3.
If I have to reread for one site, I would prefer it to be Site 8. So, so sorry.

"*** New Ruling**** 12. Order of Books read: Each badge must be complete before you start another badge. You may read each badge's tasks in any order, but you may not read a badge 2, 3, 4, or 5 book until badge 1 is complete. This ruling continues for each badge."
Janice is home now and will be popping in, so she can overrule me if she chooses, but for fairness sake I think we need to keep with the official rules.
