lol I had a "study group" for psychology today and we spent like 2 hours talking and 1 hour studying XD and this random guy was eavesdropping and just joined our conversations. it was hilarious.

Hey, I'm writing a paper on the New York Boroughs...aka New York City. Does anyone know of like a website that would have good info on that? I'm supposed to have at least 2 IMPORTANT facts about Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, etc.

Anyone good at writing essays? I could use some tips...I'm not the best at them.
the biggest thing I would suggest is make sure you have a super strong intro and conclusion. your intro should have a nice attention grabbing statement that piques the audience's interest. and a preview of your main points (a thesis statement) as kind of like a skeleton for your body paragraphs. does that make sense? and then each body paragraphs focuses on one aspect of your thesis. nice and organized. idk if that was helpful or not XD
I’m kind of jealous… gene cloning would be something I would love to write a paper about. 😂 Hmm, essay tips… I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but one thing that really helps me stay focused when writing papers is color-coding things. Like, my thesis statement is in red; topic sentences are in blue; and sub points are in orange. 🤷♀️ Also just focusing on one part of your essay at a time instead of trying to write the whole thing all at once.
Also, know who your audience is and write with them in mind. Ask yourself what the purpose of the essay is and stay focused on that while you’re writing.

Huh, that's an interesting idea! I'll have to try that. And focusing on one specific part is definitely something I need to do, my brain is so scrambled.
oh also, this doesn't work for everyone, but an outline might be a good idea. just the basics of your essay like your main points and each supporting point
I love writing essays (strange, I know!) and here are the things which help me the most:-Outlines are super helpful! And you could find a template online. Basically they just help you get your ideas down, and then all you do is write a few extra sentences to connect them.
-Skip the first paragraph until the body of your essay is done. It’s going to be a short summary of what you’ll talk about, so there is no use in trying to write it first! Write you essay, THEN introduce it.
-Honestly, just start writing. Once you get going on your idea, the words will keep coming.

What note taking apps would you all recommend? :) I usually hand write notes, but I want to try using a digital tool for my research notes (‘book notes’).
I love Notion & this app/website called MilaNote- you can add photos & as many categories as you want to your notes :)

I just use Word or Google Docs.
Thank you all for responding! I think l'm going to try Google Docs :) I usually use Apple Pages for writing, which could be used for note taking, but l'd prefer having a different app for notes. I considered using Apple Notes, but I’m not sure if it’s powerful enough. I’m procrastinating, if you all can’t tell 😂

Z, is Onenote free? Last time I looked Microsoft office products cost around $130+ and that's just a yearly subscription! Again, I'm cheap 😅
