I read this book about 3 years ago. The story is about an Irish born detective living in England. He had left Ireland years before when his girlfriend failed to turn up to meet him as they planned to elope to England. As she had gone missing at the same time as him, both families had assumed that they had run away together. The detective gets a message from his brother to say that his girlfriends suitcase had been found by builders working on a derelict house. The detective returns to Ireland and gets drawn into his dysfunctional family and solves they mystery of her disappearance.
