⭒ If you were given the money to buy a book (or an entire series!) today, what book/series would you buy?⭒

They only cost $30 for the Mass Market paperbacks :)

Alternatively, what you could do is find a library outside of your hometown, apply for a library card there, borrow the books, and never return them. You might have to use a fake name, though.

Suggestion #1: Excellent idea, thank you!
Suggestion #2: mmmm…not quite so excellent, lol. (Although my local library did get rid of overdue fees. :))
Stealing? Nah. I like to think of it as redefining the check out time 😅
My local library did, too :) I’ve never been late on returning a book, though.

I think I have only ever checked out 1 book from the library (which I also returned :); however, returning ones I borrow from my church’s library is another story, lol. I still have one that I checked out…so long ago that I don’t even remember the date. (The things you can get away with when your mom runs the church library XD)

Oh my goodness, the audacity!! I'd never voice a thought like that out loud, but I guess you are brave for doing it.

Might as well redefine it to "infinity" or some such.

Yeah, while the Goldstone books are TOTALLY different than TQT, I can easily say they are becoming one of my favorite series. Definitely my favorite Christian fantasy series. The writing just keeps getting better and better, and the plot-lines! How did she write them "backwards" like she did?? I am very impressed.

Yeah, I can tell she has talent! If I were to buy the series, I'd also call it a very good investment. Which book has been your favorite so far, btw? And is Aethelbald in them? XD

So far, Moonblood has been my favorite. It has some absolutely beautiful writing in it, and it is a lovely redemption arc. The Prince of Farthestshore was in each book I've read so far, but he is not often in his "Aethalbald" form.

Different form? That sounds interesting! Our library has got the whole series (minus Book 7), so I'll definitely be continuing on!

I feel really sorry for your guys! Your library system definitely needs to diversify, and not in the way they are probably doing right now, if you get what I mean!

Yeah, I definitely know what you mean. The vile stuff they display!🫣
After talking to a librarian about how to request books to be purchased by the library, I went on their website and requested a few books I am interested in by Christian authors. I got this weird response that "each library location is responsible for their fiction series". I showed it to the librarian at my branch, and he couldn't make heads or tails about it.🤷♀️

Is your system a pretty large one? Like I think ours encompasses at least ten to twenty libraries. Our particular library isn't very nice about Christian fiction or purchasing indie books (although they do have Joanna Ruth Meyer's books!), but a few smaller libraries in the system do stock a good amount of Christian fiction and fantasy.

My borough has its own system consisting of approximately 60 branches. I am planning on getting a card to the more general NY Public Libraries to see if I will have access to more books on Libby and Hoopla. That system is huge!

Oh, I am very quite surprised they don't have so many of the books you want to read, then!

I've heard that series is super good (but really expensive)! 😭

All of Agatha Christie's books, or a Series of Unfortunate Events

I’ve got Lord of The Rings
Clan of the Cave Bear
At one time I had to get every book Robin Cook had out there
And so many more
I’d walk into the bookshop reading a book and walk out reading the next book
It’s an obsession I had since I was a kid, growing up surrounded by books.

Yeah, I am a series-junkie too.🤷♀️ I don't know how people read the first book in a series, then move on to a completely unrelated book. I must read the entire series!

For me, reading an entire series without taking breaks with other books is kind of like eating the same food for days in a row. 😆
@M-E, well, if it is one’s favorite food, then bring it on!🤩
However, being the series junkie I am, I read the entire Lunar Chronicles back to back even though I didn’t love the books. That was like going out to eat and filling up on the bread before dinner and then looking longingly at the main dish that you are now too full to eat.

Too bad I can’t send you my daughter’s set, Elisabeth! She heard wonderful things about the series, so asked for it for Christmas. However, she barely made it through the first book, and now they are just collecting dust.

I just looked for a hardback set of HP books in B&N last night. They are having a sale on hardbacks through today. It’s in-store only, though, and all they had was paperbacks.🤷♀️
I’d buy all of Lynette noni’s books and all of Melanie dickerson’s books.
