Celia (cealcrest) | 138 comments Definitely the Scholomance series by Naomi Novik.

Book 3 comes out in September and I am freaking out.... (I've read the first book at least three times and the second book at least twice. I'm planning another re-read just prior to the release of book 3. Fan-girling like I never have for a series since LOTR. Legitimately.)

A Deadly Education (The Scholomance #1) by Naomi Novik The Last Graduate (The Scholomance, #2) by Naomi Novik The Golden Enclaves (The Scholomance, #3) by Naomi Novik

YES. Yes, yes, yes! I second everything you said. 😂

But seriously, I'm down for any pretty classics and any Tolkien. Plus indie books, of course!

I would get the new UK-version of The Queen's Thief series when they are all published. Once they are all available, I am going to get them whether someone gives me money or not!!😅 I just have to get my friend to bring them from Scotland when she comes home for a visit.😊

And......If I only had bookshelf space, I would get beautiful copies of all the amazing classics I have been reading recently!

@Kacie, when we read together before, you did audio books then, too, right? Did you listen to a TQT book yesterday? I am impressed you can do that while in school full time!! You rock🙌. Well, right now I am reading 3 books, so I can’t buddy-read now, but if you want to soon, let me know.😁

message 65: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany I would love to get the entire set of the Rainbow Fairy Books by Andrew Lang which were published a few years ago by the Folio Society. These editions are simply stunning and I adore fairy tales, and especially the Rainbow Fairy Books where each edition has tales from every corner of the earth.

If I had the money (and the space) for them, I'd be more than happy to get these editions. However, Folio Society is SO expensive. So, I'll be happy with my little paperback versions for now. :)

@Kacie, I listen to audiobooks when walking the dog, but he’s old and doesn’t like to walk far, so it can be quite unsatisfying.😅 I usually am listening to my classics on LibriVox when walking. That’s how I end up having too many books going at a time. I read at night in bed, but don’t like to listen then. I use my walking/cooking/cleaning time wisely by listening since I can’t use my hands. Often that means at least 2 books going at a time, though many times they are the same book.

message 70: by Kacie (new)

Kacie | 562 comments haha that's rough. right now I have a listening book and a reading book. but my reading book is super short so it won't be a problem

Ok, this isn’t quite on topic, but it’s not too far off.

I am always bemoaning not having space in our apartment to own the books I want, so I *try* to limit my physical- book purchases. But y’all, I went in to Barnes and Noble to get ONE book for my daughter for school. I was looking in the classics section for it and found the most beautiful copies of my two favorite classics, Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre!! They have a bookmark ribbon, gilded pages, and a raised floral design. They are also hardbacks that lay flat for reading. I had to buy them!! Thankful for my Educator’s Discount today😎. If you are interested, they are published by Chiltern in the UK.
