I love all of these characters <3

However, I feel like I'd want to be friends with Sherlock Holmes. I am also very interested in the sciences related to crime solving, along with other disciplines within science. So, I mean, at least we'd be able to carry a conversation, lol!
Not sure who else I'd want to be friends with in the fictional sense, but there's a lot of historical figures that I would love to have a conversation with... or be friends with. Possibly.

Good answer, Tiffany! By the way, since you like Harry Potter, I have a question for you: What do you think of Snape? 😅

When I was a child reading the Harry Potter books, I didn't mind Snape as much as I did when I did a reread as an adult and realised that we had an adult teacher bullying an innocent child who just happened to be one of his students. He did get a redemption arc, I feel... but still. Inexcusable that he literally terrorised Harry who was already dealing with a lot of trauma, including guardians that didn't love or want him.
That said, however, I find that I like fanfic Snape much better. Particularly the fic that has the character sort of be a mentor to Harry and letting go of the past since he understands that a child is innocent of what his father before him was guilty of. But for canon Snape... I don't really like him. Especially since I feel that many fans of the series think that just because Snape 'redeemed himself' in the end that it makes him a good person when he really wasn't.

That’s it. Just hi to someone I’ve missed.😊"
Maybe I can edit my post so that it doesn't contain that spoiler. I know that many people on here use the phone app, so maybe Lily can't read the post, either...
ETA: I've edited my post above.
Ah, thank you, @Tiffany! I totally agree with you on Snape. I even mentioned it in my HP series review. I feel like lines get blurred with his character.

IDK if Marvel counts....but Kate Bishop. LOL

@Kara, I was disappointed with the movie version of Redeeming Love as well. I don’t know what your reasons were, but I felt it morally crossed the line in the effort to be realistic. I know the Bible is realistic and gives us cold hard facts, but we don’t need to pay actors and actresses to act out the events for all to see.
I agree. I was also disappointed with the lack of the Bible and God. Sure, they pointed out that Hosea went to Church, and her mother was catholic. Also Ik that they were trying to focus on Sarah and Hosea but I was sad that Merriam and Paul's story wasn't included as much...that was a big factor into Sarah leaving and coming back.
I liked the casting, except for Paul (seemed a little too old.) But Hosea's weird farm boy smirk annoyed me.
Yes, I felt the same way about the lack of faith content. I read the book so long ago, I don’t remember the details of the fictional account enough to compare them, though.

Sharon, ah okay. I've read the book like 6 times.. lol. If you liked it, you should read her newer book The Lady's Mine. That one's pretty good. Little less faith based, and more 1940's mining town based but its still super good.

Mm, that is a really good perspective (especially your first paragraph!). I'd never thought about it that way, but yes, I'd agree that there isn't an excuse for Snape treating Harry so badly from the very start.

Curious to think what you thought of Snape? Since you've asked the question, I've remembered a lot of fic that I read with him. Most of them are Marauders Era, though. So when he was a student at Hogwarts- so his character in these stories are very interesting to read since we see how he starts to fall in with some... really bad characters.
My head canon is that some members of the Death Eaters, or at least soon to be Death Eaters, preyed upon Snape and how he wanted to fit into both Hogwarts and in his House. They probably sensed that his home life wasn't the best, either, and just said the right things and made him feel like they were the family (and friends/support network) that he desired and needed. There's a part of me that does feel bad for Snape, especially a young Snape who was desperate to escape a bad home life, but also wanted people to love and support him- and unfortunately, that's when he got pulled into Voldemort's inner circle because he was the one who provided all of that.
As for an older Snape. I mean, he's allowed to carry a grudge against James for what happened during their school years. Yet, the moment that he became a bully himself because his student just happened to look the spitting image of his dad, is where I have to draw the line.
Snape is a very difficult character for me to properly gauge, though. On one hand, I do like him- or at least, I like the idea of a younger him when he was idealistic and a bit naive (and perhaps a bit more evil), but as an adult... I am not so keen on him. He is a very interesting character, that's for sure.

I love Luna Lovegood. I admire her for how she chooses to be herself and doesn't conform to fit everyone's expectations of what is normal. She's one of my favourite characters in the Harry Potter universe- other than Hermione, Harry, Sirius, and Remus.
Rolling created amazing characters in that series!
I have never answered the question of this thread because, as I considered it, I actually found that many of my favorite characters were a little scary and nothing like me! However, I think I could say now that I could be best friends with…
Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice because she is a strong enough individual to not be influenced greatly by her foolish mother, and she is a great conversationalist.
Anne (can’t think of her last name) of The Ilyon Chronicles because she is a strong woman of conviction and faith, and she is witty and loving—a great combination.
I like talkative people! I have not had many introverted best friends over the years—as an introvert, I am usually drawn to extroverts.
