⭒Which fictional character would you be best friends with?⭒
Yeah, I’m not allowed to read or watch Harry Potter. Though, I haven’t asked in awhile….maybe I should!
Oh, I see. Well, you always want something more when you can't have it! It's a bit like the Forbidden Fruit lol
Hunger Games was just a bit violent. Could definitely be disturbing to some. I was moderately disturbed reading the books as a 7th grader. Not sure about now!
Harry Potter is written very well, but Harry himself is an awful role model, in my opinion! It's a huge fandom and the books and movies are very popular, but I didn't really have a good history with HP. I'll elaborate if anyone's interested!

Hmm... well, I liked it plenty when I was in the 3rd grade. No exaggeration there. I just can't believe how many adults like it so much! I mean, if you like HP, I really don't have anything against you and I really don't mean to offend anyone at all, but HP doesn't really make you think that much, it's not very stimulating, it's not very inspiring... You can argue differently, I know, but I just feel like it's way over-hyped. Rowling is talented to be sure, but I think even she is tiring of "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" XD

Oh, yeah, I get both sides! Really not sure about the magic in the series though... Like other books like The Hobbit have magic, too, but The Hobbit doesn't ever encourage people to get into the occult like HP sometimes does :(

✨ava✨ {Merry CHRISTmas} wrote: "Yeah, I've heard a few bad things about the magic part of HP. Is it true that they use real spells?"
Wdym? xD
Wdym? xD

✨ava✨ {Merry CHRISTmas} wrote: "Oh, well I've heard rumors that they used actual spells (like black magic) in the books. (Or was it the movies?) IDEK XD. It's just a rumor tho, so I doubt it's even true"
Well, yeah, the whole point of Hogwarts is to teach the kids "witchcraft and wizardry." They also learn about potions, herbs, etc. but yeah, there's a lot of "spells." All of it is fantasy, ofc (you can't actually take a wand and wave it and levitate things), but it is very... witchy...

Yeah, sure! I was thinking about a reread of the first book for my updated thoughts, but that's not really a top priority of mine rn

Book wrote: "Okay, so a lot of people say that JK wrote real spells, but when you look up the words you realize that they are all latin words that mean what the spell does."
Yeah, I heard about that! I still don't think it makes it right the way Rowling presented it all.

Yep! Same! But I’m going to see if I can read it, because soo many people like it, and I want to see if I would have the same appeal!
✨ava✨ {Merry CHRISTmas} wrote: "Yeah.... if HP didn't have all of the magic and witchy things I would've already read it and most likely loved it."
Same

Okay, so I think that it's not the reading the story that's bad, I think that I see so many of my friends who have read it pretending to cast spells and junk like that, and they say we're just pretending, but you never know where that could lead you know? The more you do something, or around something, the more normal it becomes and the more you soften towards until you're no longer saying magic is bad and wtichcraft is bad but saying oh I'm just pretending or oh it's just ink on a page, it's can't be thaaat bad right?
so yeah....
so yeah....

Yeah. Hunger Games...I never finished the whole series, I didn't really find interest in it. It's pretty much children (like fairly young to teens) set up to fight and kill each other.....for the excitment of the goverment or ruler or whoever....like how disturbing is that?
And there was some drinking in it, and even in the books it discribed that sometimes they didn't wear much clothing. I would say don't read it until at least idk.....15 or 16? I honestly only read it cuz it was on a kindle XD....but I only read to about book 2 and only read half of book two.

Yeah, I grew up in a Christian home but after reading Harry Potter, I started getting into witchcraft... I'm not saying that'll happen to everyone, but I was someone that was always staunchly against witchcraft, but it still ended up affecting me in the end. Like years after I first read the series, I started to get into fortune telling and seances and whatever. It was not cool. Thank God I got too busy later and quit all that and then actually found God a little while later.

Yea thank God!
My mom's sister is into like talking to "dead people" and stuff like that and saying "it's a gift from God."
