Ahh, literally any other month I'd be fine with this, but I'm travelling next week and was going to start a little early because it's the only current book on my radar that I own digitally and I didn't want to cart an actual book around!

So sorry 🙈 if I wasn't travelling I'd easily be able to add other books in between. Sorry!

On a random note, I do have a confession to make.

Sometimes I ask for buddy-readers for my thriller, mystery, horror books, like The Retreat that I have for June, it is because (please don't laugh)... I get scared to read them alone. I love them, but I am such a scaredy cat, which I think balances out somewhere over "literary masochist". I am the person who watches "horror" movies through half-opened lids and my fingers in front of my eyes, and then only when I lose a bet or my life depends on it.

When I buddy-read, it feels like someone is metaphorically holding my hand so I don't have to wander the scary darkness alone. I have someone to cling to when I hear a twig break or feel the cold touch of a ghostly presence. It makes me feel safer :)

So change of plans. My daughter has just tested positive for covid so we are no longer going away as she has to isolate for 7 days now (and as she's 2 and doesn't understand personal space, hubby and I will probably test in the coming days too).

So, if you'd still like to change to July/August I am able to now!
