Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Allegedly, there are over 400 (I'm assuming unique, and non-derivative) proofs for the Pythagorean theorem (also, possibly the most for any mathematical formula).

I'd like a book that has all (or a vast majority) of them, and lays out the reasoning for them - and preferably the history of each proof.

Reportedly, we do not have Pythagoras' own proof (if he ever did) of the theorem.

There are several books on the theorem:
The Pythagorean Theorem: A 4,000-Year History
The Pythagorean Theorem, Crown Jewel of Mathematics

Which I've not read yet; but I'd like the proofs - *NOT* discussion on the theorem's importance or history, or "spinoffs including trigonometry, puzzles, and pastimes." These books appear to have a selection of the proofs (ie: only a few - I'm guessing under 20).
