It doesn’t take long for the investigation to divide the town while Liam is trying to following the evidence. Even though he’s married to Colleen, who is part Anishinaabe, it didn’t make him one or accepted by the members. They distrusted his badge and felt he could only see through a lens of a white man. The white community accused him of being biased because of his wife. Was Liam truly an island? What choices did he have other than the path he chose that represented his idea of justice? How could he have been better supported?

I felt bad for Liam and thought that he did the best he could under such difficult circumstances. He certainly could have wished for more support from some of his family!

Liam was just trying to do his job against incredible obstacles, most of them bias on both sides. I admired his resilience.

Agree with what you both said. I felt Liam really tried his best to be fair and follow the letter of the law. Plenty of prejudice from all sides.
