You can read the group book at any time during the month and at your own pace. This is the pace the group will be using, but if you read ahead or will be giving spoilers, please mark them (click the "some html is ok button"). If you have any questions a mod or another member can help you.

Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments So I'm way ahead and finished the book as I couldn't wait any longer

This spoiler is my thoughts on the whole thing just as a warning:

(view spoiler)

Katie (love---katie) | 576 comments I started it already too but I'll be holding off on reading your thoughts until I finish lol. I like it fine so far, but I just keep getting sidetracked by the fact this was originally written as a Reylo fanfiction 😂

Amelia (whatameliareads) | 268 comments I know! I think I'm lucky as I've never seen star wars so I've been able to separate that as I don't know the characters but for people who have it must be bizarre 😂

Jimara (jimaraamadi) | 41 comments I also couldn't wait and finished the book this morning! Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!

Diné *The Lazy Kitsune* | 181 comments Just started it yesterday and I'm halfway in. I'm not that into new Star Wars too, but when it came to Adam's description I thought he sounds like Adam Driver (he was in Dead Don't Die which I love). I really enjoy Olive's POV. She's so funny, her ability to exaggerate consequences in her head is hilarious and very relatable.

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 347 comments I'm *almost* halfway through and while I'm enjoying it, it does give me fanfic vibes here and there. Which is fine!

Honestly, I can't really detect the similarities to Star Wars, maybe because I watched some of those movies about 10 years ago, haha!

That's exactly what I thought of Olive too. Very much an overthinker and a catastrophiser (which is way too relatable!)

Right? I get millennial vibes.

So I finished the book, and Adam is perfect *dancing to the Star Wars theme*. Very enjoyable lighthearted read. I think it balances well romcom elements and tropes without ever being cringy. The characters are amazing. I especially liked Ahn. What a woman!

Melanie | 167 comments I’m really late getting to this. Just started tonight. I had no idea about the Star Wars connection until reading this thread. I just thought I’d try and read at least one of this month’s group reads and this one was available at my library. It’s cute, and I like the smart girl vibes, but I’m only 3-chapters in.

Finished this book and must say I really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the setting of STEM academia. The trope of "fake dating" has obviously been done before, but for the Thanksgiving weekend marathon of reading, it was a perfect read.

Jumped in on this one at the last minute because I messed up a lot with my other books and had no time to start it.. well I didn't want to start it since I already have a few currently reading books.

This was a fast read, and it was cute.. comparing it to other romance books it's a bit amateurish.. but it is the author's first book and it's a good start. I wasn't aware of the Star Wars thing.. but also I haven't watched it 😅 I'm also thankful I didn't because I didn't imagine those characters while reading this. One other thing I liked, there was no unnecessary drama.
