I think he has bad memory of them, that’s why.
He has probably associated anything related to being a ‘girl’ as uncomfortable and bad. That’s why he feels like the lace dresses are stupid.

Also, lace dresses are usually heavy and difficult to wear. So maybe that’s why he calls them ‘stupid ‘ ? Idk.
