Genesis cringed at the fact that it was meat. Of course it would be, he wasn't in the Rabbit Kingdom anymore. He wasn't sure what to do. He felt like he was starving, but meat made him sick to his stomach. Some jackalopes were known to eat meat - in stories, of course, he'd never met another real one - but he wasn't one of them. "I-I'm okay...thank you.." he mumbled, hating himself for denying the food. He perked up at the fact that Zaine may have some Maidenhair leaf. He always liked to have some extra leaves in storage, in case he needed them.
"Aha!" He exclaimed, and quickly came back out.
"Here you are!"
Genesis beamed, surprise obvious in his expression. "Wow, you actually have it!" he exclaimed, reaching for it. And then he froze. He spoke. Without stuttering. And he spoke loudly. His nose and cheeks blushed a bright red, and he hung his head. "Sor-Sorry." He politely took the Maidenhair, and put it gently into his satchel.
"Gen-Genesis. And-and no, thank y-you," Genesis mumbled, getting nervous. He'd been there too long, he had to go back to rabbit kingdom tomorrow. There was no point in stalling, he'd already got what he needed.Trying to still be polite, Genesis starting backing up lowly. Eventually he turned around and waved at Zaine as a goodbye as he walked away. He wore a gold anklet, and it jingled as he moved.

Maria skipped happily through the streets, almost without a care in the world. She had managed to make her brother smile for once! Ita's lack of enthusiasm wasn't anything new, but it had gotten much worse as of late, and that worried her. She made it her personal daily task to see a smile on the feline's face. Most of the time she succeeded, much to her relief, but when she doesn't... Seeing my little brother like that is troubling. I wonder what is going on in that head of his? She paused in her movement and stared at the sky, almost as if asking for an answer from the heavens above.
Nora quickly stepped through the streets, head turned to the grey stones below her. She had just gone grocery shopping and gotten some supplies for her sewing. Each time she left her apartment, her senses were always heightened.
As Maria had stopped to look up, Nora didn't realize she was headed straight in her direction. Her head bumped into a figure, accidentally dropping her basket in the surprise. She looked up, face immediately turning red.
"Oh, I am so, so sorry!" Nora said as she bent down to gather her things in as little time as possible.
Maria's train of thought was broken when she felt something, or rather someone, bump into her and stumbled backwards a bit before quickly regaining her footing. "Ah, lo siento!" She bent down to help pick up the remaining goods. "I should have payed attention to my surroundings," she laughed away her embarrassment. "And maybe should have stepped off to the side instead of standing in the way of others." Mama would start an entire lecture if she found out about this! The thought of her mother's wrath sent a shiver down her spine, and she quickly pushed the scary image out of her mind to focus on the woman in front of her.
"Oh, uh, no, it's fine! I wasn't looking and I don't really go out that often, so . . ," Nora began, but she quickly trailed off when she realized she was sharing a bit too much to a stranger. "I'm sorry." Her anxiety levels were high. She just wanted to get home, where it was safe. Lately she'd been able to go out more after that odd man named Humminbird had visited her, but she still couldn't free herself of her fear.
"Thank you," she said, glad this woman had even bothered to help her gather her stuff. Being a well-mannered lady, she asked, "What is your name, if I may ask? Mine is Nora." She smiled, even despite her urge to quickly turn away and go. This could be an opportunity for her to leave her own box and maybe make another friend.
"No problem!" Maria took no notice of the staring and simply gave a friendly smile. "My name is Maria Emmerson, Knight of the Canine Kingdom," she raised her head with pride. She could finally defend her homeland, and further more, her loved ones. She could serve her country with her strength, and she wouldn't have it any other way. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Nora!" She sensed Nora's anxiety, and remembered something Ita said. "Maria, be careful when someone's anxiety is high. Don't be so forward and loud, try to be a bit more calm, okay?" Yes, that was it! And so that's what she did. She attempted to calm down her energy enough to not make the female's anxiety any worse.
"Oh, wow!" Nora exclaimed, staring with wider eyes at Maria. "Thank you for defending our kingdom," she said as she took a quick bow. She smiled back at the woman. "Actually, my sister is a head knight! Anya Vos, if you know her." On appearance, the two sisters shared many similarities, but most didn't realize due to them being polar opposites. Anya was sociable and dangerous, Nora was more timid and couldn't possibly hurt a fly. She greatly admired the work the knights did, though. They were everything she wished she could be.
"I would love to one day work at the palace as a seamstress or something alike, but I still have to work on getting out more," she said with a nervous laugh. While she tried to help Anya as much as possible in her apartment, she wanted to eventually pay it off in real money. A job could help with that, especially with one so close to her sister.
((OH FISH I DIDN'T SEE A NOTIFICATION-))Maria recalled the name and nodded excitedly. "Si, si, I know that name! She's a fantastic fighter!" Her eyes glittered with admiration. "I only just made the cut fairly recently, but I hope my skills with my great-axe will prove my worth!" The canine woman grinned proudly, and then calmed down to listen to Nora. "Ah, a seamstress. Yes, that would be a great help. I believe in you! Start small, and little by little your efforts will come to fruition. That's how I went about my training, and I believe that it all spells the same for all occupations," she tilted her head and gave an encouraging smile. "Perseverance is the key."
She smiled at Maria's comments about her sister. Nora felt uplifted by this knight's positivity, wondering how others seemed to have the natural gift to spread happiness. Even though she tried to look on the brighter side, her mental health still got the best of her quite often.
Tentatively, she asked, "How do you stay so positive?" It felt far too direct for someone like Nora, but she forced it out. She wanted to be like this woman and achieve her dreams.

He hadn't eaten since two days ago, and there was starting to be a pain in his stomach. Plus, a lot of the food he'd been eating before that was leftovers from other people's food. It was kind of pathetic, if he was being honest, begging for food like that. He knew he should feel ashamed.
