Indy has a big heart, but she is a klutz. She gets into situations that require a rescuer. Men who are attracted to her are protector types, even the bad guys.
Indy is a free spirit, she would have been called a hippy back in my day. She is accepting of everyone at face value and everyone knows she doesn't judge. She looks out for the ones that society doesn't accept and they gravitate to her.
Sharon and Anita, you hit all my points. I would just add that Indy tends NOT to look before she leaps so that gets her into trouble (I wouldn't call her a TSTL type character).
Jo Ann that surprises me a little. Indy does leap before she thinks, but she also doesn't listen to sound advice. Two of her kidnappings seemed TSTL to me.
With the level of humor in this book I see her as a goofy Lucy-type character. Not saying she doesn't do crazy stuff but I don't assess her actions like I would a character in a more dramatic story. I do not think Indy's overall character can be described as TSTL. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it!
Indy is all heart and loyal to a fault, which drives her decision-making. I wouldn’t label her as TSTL as she has a point of view with logic that sometimes has her leaping from the heart.
As far as her abductions, the first was a toss up, the second definitely not her fault as these “morons” were brazen enough to come to a cop’s house, full of cops and dangerous men and take her. The third one was on her as she was begged to not leave the house.
Indy is a free spirit and is confident in who she is and what she wants from life. She doesn’t care what people think about her choices and never blames anyone but herself when things go wrong. You’ve got to admire a woman who isn’t afraid to be herself.
