It was all of the above. Honestly how could Indy believe Lee. In these past 13 years since he told her she was like a sister he never hinted that he wanted more. I know she avoided him, but with his skills he could have corner her to say he made a mistake and he was interested. I didn't buy it. I would be a little stubborn too.
Lee's actions were more than a little strange. What guy who really loves a girl is okay with her dating and sleeping with other men? I know he felt she was too young and needed experience, but 13 years is a long time. I don't blame her for writing him off and trying to move on. His rejection was like an open wound that had finally formed a scab and he just ripped it off.
I think Lee is finally in a position - financially, professionally and personally - to be in a serious relationship and he's just been waiting for the right time to make it happen. He saw the perfect opportunity and took it. Also, I believe he has been away for some of those 13 years (military and living in DC, I believe).
I agree Anita. Indy is in her late twenties, I think twenty eight. If he was interested he needed to make a move.Jo Ann, He has been away, but it sounds like he is home enough that he could have talked to Indy at some point over the past few years. That part of the story didn't feel right to me.
Lee’s inaction, for whatever reason, was troublesome. That’s why Eddie gave him that ultimatum and I believe was the main reason he finally made his move, that and the convenience of her being in need of his help. I also believe if she’d started to get serious about someone, he would have made a move.
Indy was right to be stubborn about it. Not only had Lee stayed away for 13 years but he’d been a manwhore about it. She made him work for her and it was the right thing to do.
