What did I just read…

Ok FINE. The plot twist was BRILLIANT. (view spoiler)[The mc was an unreliable narrator and we totally believed him. (hide spoiler)]

I never liked the mc though

I did guessed the different timeline from the beginning though….
I knew the affair happened in the past.

But I do have some complains -

1. Very slow pacing. This is why I have problems reading thrillers like this, they’re so SLOW.

2. I admit the timelines were brilliantly placed together just off enough for us to discover something wrong but still placed well together to not make us too suspicious
BUT I wish we were given more clues about mc being an unreliable narrator. I feel like certain clues would have made the plot twist even better
Right now, it seems to be coming out of nowhere.

3. I sped through the novel, so I’m a bit confused….why was she silent the entire time ?? Guilt ??
Can someone clarify ??

4. The last problem is characters, I felt so detached. I wish the characters were written a bit better.

And that’s all. The plot was good and the plot twist was BRILLIANT. But I’ll stick with my 3 stars because of above problems

1, Why she was silent the entire time
2, I agree with the pacing but then I felt like there had to be some sort of build-up which there was to ya know make it more worth it?? I don't have a big issue with the pace
3. I sorta guessed he was gonna be unreliable because "I'm not the hero of the story, Alicia's story deserves to be told??" smth like that he said at first?? yeah
And then when he was telling us he was gonna kill the man who his wife is cheating on with?? I was like QUESTIONABLE MORALS....
4. I don't think I needed to like the characters sicne I only cared about the plot (hide spoiler)]
