Victoria Ortega (cherievictoire) | 5 comments I loved this book! It was a difficult read emotionally for sure (especially at the start), as heartbreak and the other associated raw emotions that come from abandonment were portrayed very vividly in the story, but it also made the ending all the more cathartic for me - it left me with a similar sense of acceptance that the protagonist, Olga, also seemed to go through herself over the course of the novel.

Barbara (kounelaki) | 4 comments The writing was amazing - even though I read a English translation I thought the word choice was incredible and the changes in tone.

Pravin Nair | 2 comments This book was a great reflection of the unbecoming of a woman in the absence of familiarity - at abandonment. I think it was a greatly written book (I love the themes of the women losing their shit i.e My Year Of Rest & Relaxation) and how well it captured the essences of losing oneself and becoming so far apart from what one knows to be familiar and true.

While some matters of the topic were difficult to discuss, I did find solace in that fact that the book was relatable. I think the episode it was shown on made a great deal of sense. It is the almost miniature clues to the plot of the book and how Julien mimicked this. I love it and the creators of the show for being so, so well read.

JM Balbaboco (jmbalbaboco) | 4 comments I consider this book as the epitome of a girl who gave her everything and was left nothing. Elena Ferrante gave meaning to women who have seen it all, the pain that she went through and the disappointments she did to herself. But having shortcomings doesn’t mean that your life is over, there will always be a possibility for another shot, a second chance to achieve the one happiness you truly deserved.
