She's proof that you can walk through hell and still be an angel

Ettelyn Mae Harlow - seventeen - female [she/her] - straight - orchid house

Ettelyn Mae is a complicated girl. She is like a flower; she is easily able to wilt. To much pressure and she will drop. Or that’s what her parents believe. Ettelyn didn’t have the childhood of her dreams but that didn’t stop her from becoming her own person. Her life before the Academy is a small blur and that helps her focus on what she’s there for; dance. She can be the best friend in the world if you give her time. She may seem closed off or fake, but really she's assessing everyone in the school. Not necessarily judging, but in better terms; assessing.

She is bubbly and kind, but don’t mistake this for her trusting you or even like you. She does this as a defense mechanism towards others. She came here because he parents told her to and that's all she ever thinks about. Not only is she bubbly but she is calm and collected, knowing what to say when and where. Ettelyn has a way with words and will always be the one to give advice.

Fight it, or accept it.

Ettelyn had a complicated childhood. She grew up with only her mother. Her mother wasn't the kindest person, but their relationship was a bittersweet one. She was the only parent that Ettelyn had ever known as her father was never there, but her mother abused her in more mental and emotional ways than physical. There were no wounds that anyone could see so they all thought the poor girl was fine. Her wounds, scratches and bruises were in her heart and mind. Ettelyn was forced to become a ballerina at a very young age. That meant starving herself and still having the brightest smile. That meant killing her feet and never complaining. Her mother wanted her to be the best, Ettelyn wanted to be the best. She thought she had to be the best. Now at the age of seventeen she finally made it to the Orchid House at Oleander Academy. But her mother wasn't satisfied, Ettelyn wasn't made dance team captain and her mother freaked out on her, words sued out of her mouth. But that seemed like ages ago for Ettelyn. Nothing has ever satisfied her mother and Ettelyn will do anything to finally make her mother love her.

Fear it, or control it.

Ettelyn has shoulder length, straight ebony hair. The ends are a few shades lighter. She looks nothing like her mother and more like her father who she had never met. Her eyes are a dark brown almost black but in the sunlight, they brighten to a dark chocolate color. Her skin was in a sunkissed tan. She has a dancer's athletic build with a slim torso and strong arms and legs.

Ettelyn normally wears her athletic clothes, always sporting a clean but comfy look. Her hair can only be found two ways. Either up in a slick back bun or ponytail or down perfectly straight. There are no if’s, buts or ands for the girls clothing style. She always looks clean cut; nothing out of place.

I didn't come this far, only to come this far.
