Liralen | 8223 comments I'm intrigued by the new-ish 'filter by work ID' option on the Combine page, but I have yet to be able to make it work.

For example, if I go to the Combine page for Ann Patchett and search under work ID for '4906348,15957' (work IDs for editions of Bel Canto and The Patron Saint of Liars, copied directly from the URL bars for those books), I get the message 'No titles by the author correspond to work IDs 4906348,15957.' Same thing if I include a space, same thing if I only search for a single work ID, same thing if I search for books that only have one edition.

Am I doing something wrong? What should I be seeing here? I've read the original (now closed) announcement thread for this feature, as well as the Librarian Manual page on this, to no avail. Not sure if this is a bug or user (me!) error.

Thanks!

Arenda | 26447 comments The numbers you used are not the work-ID.
15957 is the ID for one edition of The Patron Saint of Liars, not the work-ID.
The work-ID is 1043652, see https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

The work-ID for Bel Canto is 859342, see: https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...
The ID you used is probably also for one edition.

You always have to go to the "all editions" link to get the work-ID, even when there is only one edition.
