James D Hi
I hoping someone might be able to help me.
I'm just starting reading John Shirley's - Eclipse (A Song Called Youth) and I'm trying to find an ebook of the original text.
I have bought a used copy of the paperback from the 80s and because of modern life my usual way of reading is I like to get a kindle or Play Books copy as well so I can read on the move. Problem is Eclipse seems to have been significantly updated sometime in the 2010s. Even the first paragraph has the words "metal" replaced with "titanium" and "fluttering" with "Whiffed". So clearly I'm not going to be able to chop between the two. Problem is the kindle version I bought is the updated version and as far as I can tell from the other vendors I've checked with they all have the updated version too. (It's like Starwars all over again :) I'd prefer to read the original if possible. Does anyone know if the original text has ever been released digitally and where I might find it? Thanks

might actually be a UK vs US version of the book too.

edit to change IL to UK

CBRetriever | 6113 comments and as it was published originally in 1985, when there really weren't any Kindle books published, it was probably revised before the Kindle, Nook, etc versions were published

Yup, "titanium" in the first sentence of the edition sold on Amazon's US store.

James D Thanks; So far I have only found the original text as an ebook translated to Spanish :) I might have to resign myself to just carrying the paperback around.
