I loved the fifth reader concept and the bonus points awardedThe tasks were broad enough for me that most weeks I had a book for all four categories, which I appreciated.
Thanks Lanelle. Really enjoyed this challenge.
Maybe tweak the bonus points systemEg.for example have a bonus criteria which is different each week- eg. A translated book, a book by a BIPOC author, an author under 25 etc,
So that the bonus points aren’t just ‘luck’
I really enjoyed this team challenge Lanelle. Thanks for all your hard work!
I enjoyed the challenge and don't really have any complaints since I have never really seen the amazing race. I did like the 5th book being a bonus and it was luck of random.org as to which one would receive the points.
I loved this challenge very much, espacially it was so laid back and not very much competitve.I wish the bonus points were not that random and entirely left to chance - a more demanding task would be an idea (though I'm aware that's something very difficult to gauge because depending on the interest these could be the easiest tasks for some people)
Another idea was to award bonus points for the fastest team either each week or at given intervals (e.g. the one fastest five times, or a number of consecutive weeks) or only once for the team with the highest number of reports being first (though that could be difficult if handle if there's a tie)
An idea I remember from other team challenges that could be interesting (even if I'm not a fan of) award additional points for really long books - that way those teams having members not reporting back (or very late on a regular basis) can still do something about placement.
What I loved the best was the “free choice”. If someone was having a busy week — it made it so much easier. Also, I liked that the book prompts weren’t too outlandish. Sometimes team challenges have crazy tasks and while it’s creative, it’s hard, makes you read things you have no desire to read, and becomes no fun. That didn’t happen here, so thanks Lanelle! 💋💋
Lanelle i loved this challenge , it was easy enough to understand and could fit in with other challenges , easy to captain .I like the way that its basically down to the randomizer who wins, it takes the pressure off a little bit as a lot of my other challenges are the opposite .
The tasks were a mixture of easy and hard so that was good too
I found the challenge to be a lot of fun. In The Amazing Race, the "fast forward" is a choice made by the competitors which pretty much eliminates the randomness. It seems fairer to me somehow. Like the others, I liked the fifth reader choice as well. Although, I entered late as a substitute and never had that feature, it certainly made assignment choices much easier. I would certainly do it again.

The tricky part of doing a challenge for the first time is working out all the bugs. You all were guinea pigs :)
If we were to have The Amazing Race Season 2 team challenge, what you would change? What would you keep the same? What aspect was good but needs a little tweaking? What needs to be totally revamped?
In the TV show, there is what's called a 'Fast Forward'. Half way through this challenge I realized I could have done something with that. Oh, well. Any ideas to use this feature if we have another TAR team challenge?
I will most likely not comment on the suggestions and ideas put forth. I don't want to influence the brainstorming. Although I might ask someone to clarify or expound on an idea. I truly appreciate any assistance you give.
